"Are they good for a VERY active walker/runner? Will they hold up? "

I think A qualifies as that and pretty much yes. The bottoms hold up great. The only *issue* we have is the leather fading in places but I'm OK with that. He's worn them all Summer nearly every day and has gotten them soaking wet.

    Brown boots from Preschoolians:

DD and me, we love Preschoolians

The advantage over SKR is that Preschoolians come with insoles in 3 different widths. Wonderful for DDs narrow mini-feet.

Those SKR shoes are adorable!!! Here's my question - do I need to get DS fitted for his first shoe? Or can I just measure his feet and start out with the SKRs? Because those are wayyyy cuter than the plain white orthopedic stride rites!

Just wondering - they are SUPER cute. I just visited their website and am in love with several styles!
Taya is very active, too. Her shoes held up just fine. The only thing is the leather is really, really soft. It can scuff very easy.

You can just measure them. Easiest way is to put his foot on a piece of paper, mark the big toe and heal and measure that.

The SKR shoes do scuff. It's a bit of a bummer. I am slightly less in love with them than I was, but Nora still absolutely loves them, which is worth a lot in my book.

Has anyone here washed their SKR shoes? Ours have some "washable" paint on them.

Just ordered a pair of PediPeds for DS recently. I ordered a pair of orange & brown, which is a new style they just added. Pictures of the new shoes haven't been updated on their website yet.

I also ordered this pair for my friend's new baby girl:
