Semily, I am so, so sorry. How incredibly hard. I am so glad you could be there as support for him. Imagine how much more scared he would be if he had to go through this alone. Please know all of us here at CC are sending as much mental and emotional support as we can.

Just catching up. What a stressful couple of days. I am so sorry to hear about all of the recent happenings . Hugs Semily to you and your family. The not knowing and riding this roller coaster has to be so hard.

Oh, gosh, semily. I am so sorry to hear this update. I really hope things do improve. Intraparenchymal (intracerebral, vs the epidural/subdural ones that happen between the brain and the skull) bleeds are very tough, and prognosis can change moment by moment. I would hope that the fact that things looked up during rounds is a positive sign?

My thoughts are with you and your family. I am so glad your brother is there to help you shoulder this incredibly difficult time. Much love to you all.

Thanks for all the continued support. The day has been okay. A speech evaluation showed apraxia and aphasia (sp?) and that he's not necessarily understanding why he's nodding and mhh hmming. We thought it was because he understood, but the therapist said he's likely not making connections on complex thoughts. He can't stick his tongue out or swallow. A PT eval showed good strength, but inability to follow commands. All the staff say these are pretty typical things to be happening. But we had zero idea this would/could be the case. There was just no time to prep us yesterday. The staff today had been awesome though- answering all our questions and offering lots of support.

The transplant is officially on hold. My uncle was supposed to go to boston next week for the stem cell donation.

I left after 6 hours at the hospital to make dinner at home and spend some time with the boys before bed. A friend had dropped off a casserole which I'm heating up. Yay!

I feel like I should go back for more visiting later though.
