    When my DD was in early intervention for gross motor there were lots of kids younger than 2 who were in for speech delays. I agree with everyone about not waiting if you're concerned, many programs have waiting lists so it can take awhile to get an assessment or a spot in a program.

    My DS had one word at 12-13 months, so we had him in speech therapy at 14 months. We started with our county's EI program, but that was a joke, so we went with private services. We saw no reason to wait and I'm so glad we did it.
