    Who we are:

    We are a group of women who for one reason or another want to shed a few (or more) lbs. We need the encouragement of others no matter their size or goal and we thrive in an atmosphere where we can all support one another.

    Want to join the fun?!?

    We welcome one and all. It doesn't matter what diet you are on (if any) or how many miles a week you run (if any) we will all find lots of help and support here.

    Feel free to join at any time during the challenge.
    It's better to join NOW than to wait until we start a new challenge!

    You don't have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page and post a reply with the following information. None of this info is a must but it helps to learn a little bit about each other.

    If you don't want to start losing until after the New Year, that is fine. I just wanted to open the challenge for people who didn't want to wait.

    I'll be back to post my weight and goal later.


    In 2010 I lost 30 lbs and saw the scale say "overweight", not "obese" for 1 day. I fit into my wedding dress again. I was on my way to goal. And then I got a new, stressful position at work. DH got laid off and my hopes of buying a house seemed dashed and he cooked really good, unhealthy dinners for 10 months, then he got a new job and we immediately started working to put our townhouse on the market and looking for a new house and moving and stress of a new house, I gained 50, yes, 50 lbs in 18 months. So here I am the weight I was 9 months pregnant with DS, 15 lbs above my previous heighest non-pregnant weight. I re-joined WW after Thanksgiving - I am really excited about it. This is the first time I've done WW at a center, not at work. It is at 7 am on Saturday morning so I get up and have time to myself and it doesn't interfere with the rest of our family time. And my leader lost 85 lbs, so about the same amount I want to lose, so she is inspirational. Hopefully this will be the time - At 42 I am not getting any younger. 2012 my motto was "moving" which originally meant to run a 5K each month, but I haven't run since the Superbowl (the day we decided to move). 2013 my motto will be "living" - we spent 2012 making a major life change, now we want to finally enjoy it and get outdoors with the kids - DS is finally old enough to start talking real walks and hikes and swimming and all that.

    I need to lose this baby weight. I am BFing and the weight NEVER comes of easily for me when I am. My stomach looks horrible and I no muscle tone. I don' t have much time to work out either with working full time and having 4 little ones. I was almost back to my pregnancy weight after DD2 but I got pregnant again. I need some motivation!

    So I'm noticing things (especially my midsection) looking a little bit softer/puffier and I'd like to combat a bit of that. I need to work on snacking less and making better eating decisions- especially in group/social settings. My schedule is set so I have time to get to the gym 2x during the week. I need to be better about that as well. I usually hit 1 workout per week, which isn't cutting it.

    Although we are TTC, I'm still joining. I started off my last pgcy at this weight, and my OB wanted me to stay under 10lbs gained during my pgcy. I'll aim for that this time around as well, and this challenge helped me out with that!

    I'll join. Today I weigh 138. I am 5 ft 6 in.

    Challenge issue: STRESS!

    I don't have a particular goal, I just want to start losing. I usually gain 5 or so lbs during the school year and lose it over the summer. Last summer, I gained another 5 lbs instead and spent the first 2 months in bed with migraines. GAH! I know I need to move more and eat better, but the key for me is to find a way to relieve stress and just be happy.
