I didn't read many this year, due to having a baby

Two that stood out the most:
The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino
    Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

    Others I enjoyed:
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (YA)
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer (YA)
    Legend by Marie Lu (YA)

Looking at my goodreads list, I gave 5 stars to:
On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves
    Wife 22 by Melanie Gideon
    Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
The Night Circus by Ellen Morgenstern
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
    Divergent by Veronica Roth
    Zeitoun by Dave Eggars

I'd say my faves out of those were Gone Girl and The Book Thief.

I need to add some of the recs in here! I bought 11/22/63 for the Kindle for dirt cheap last week on amazon. Hoping to read that soon.

I didn't read as many books as I wanted to this year, but these were the best of the bunch:

    1. The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbagh
    2. This Is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz
    3. Life, on the Line: A Chef's Story of Chasing Greatness, Facing Death, and Redefining the Way We Eat by Grant Achatz
    4. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
    5. Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter

I've put a bunch of the books from the "best of" lists on my to-read list for next year, so I'm hopeful that I'll have a longer favorites list next December!

I just finished my first book of 2013 (ok, really, last of 2012, but read over just the last few days) thanks to this list - Gone Girl. Going to use this thread to come up with more titles, since my leisure reading has been long neglected.

I had this in my cart last night, but didn't check out until we watched the ball dropped, and then it went up to the regular price. I put it on hold at the library instead, but definitely want to read it, after the raves here.
