The Regent is enormous. You might be able to squeeze a small passenger in between (i wouldn't know for sure without trying, and i actually kind of doubt it), but it wouldn't be comfortable at all.

Anybody have thoughts on the best time to move an infant out of the infant carrier? I can't remember when we did it for DD. DS is 8 months old and still fits and the seat goes up to 40 pounds so that won't ever be an issue. But it's getting heavy for me to carry him in the seat. Should I move him or just make DH carry the seat?

I moved both my kids as soon as the bucket got too heavy. I injured myself pretty badly carrying it with DD. They were 6 or 7 months.

Or alternative 3 - keep him in the seat, but leave the seat in the car. We did that when it started getting too heavy - before we got a convertible.

Do you have another seat ready to move him to? If you do and it fits better in your car, go ahead and move him. If not, I'd keep using the bucket seat until he outgrows it but just leave it in place as Robin says. I very very seldom took my bucket seat out if the car once the kids were past 3 months old.

I loved our infant seats and used them until the kids were too tall. Yes they were heavy, but the I loved the ease of the snap 'n go, especially the double. My DDs were in the bucket seats until 15 months and my DS was 13 months maybe?

Just an FYI if your babies are tall, they tend to outgrow by height before weight. DS barely made it 6 months in his bucket. DD lasted longer because it was easier as far as daycare went since I dropped off and DH picked up. I think she was 8-9 months old when we moved her to a convertible.

We moved YDD out of the carrier for good at 15 months. Although she did not meet the weight requirements to turn her around, she was just too tall for the carrier. At first we put her in ODD's old convertible seat, but YDD did not quite fit ( her legs kept getting scrunched because she still had to rear face.) We ended up with this seat:

DH calls it the "Space Shuttle Seat". Pricey, but well worth it.

I moved DD out of her seat before I "had" to, but it ended up being annoying bc she still fell asleep in the carseat a lot and then there was no option to carry her in the house while still asleep. I think she was around 8-9 (?) months. However she is above average for height and she RF until 3 years old. She just crossed her legs and it didn't seem to be an issue.

I moved both my girls around 8-9 months. I HATED the bucket (carrying it - killed my shoulders) even though they were small (only 14-15 pounds when I moved them). Neither of mine would sleep once the car stopped so that wasn't an issue. I moved them into RF Marathon (and kept them rear facing till 2).

Leaving them in the bucket was an option - but with the Marathon we had more space and I liked the install much better.
