Ugh, last night was horrible. I barely slept because I was in so much pain.

Ok, now that I'm more awake...how long are we talking for the engorgement to pass? A couple nights? A week? I feel like maybe I should have pumped overnight it was so bad. I couldn't even lift my arms up this morning.

I don't remember exactly but maybe about a week for me? I remember it gradually getting better.

I would wake up completely soaked and could barely move bc my boobs were rock hard and full. Just keep the pump handy and pump just enough to relieve the pressure.

If you can't lift your arms, I'm thinking you should definitely pump before bed.

diam Have you looked on KellyMom? Here's a link to a page on engorgement -I hope it settles down soon for you, but it does say to not skip feedings, even at night.

Well, DD is not back to her birthweight. She's 8 days old and 7lbs12oz (was 8lbs6oz at birth). I think my plan is to pump at least once overnight and then try to get her to drink from the bottle. She seems more alert when drinking from the bottle and doesn't fall asleep as easily.

You'd think I would know this, but honestly this is the first time I've dealt with this...

YDD is 8.5 months old. She is a very good nurser and we nurse at nights and on weekends and she uses a bottle during the day with DH. She has two teeth on the bottom which has not been an issue. Recently she got two teeth on the top and we have an ISSUE!

She's not biting, but when she nurses on the right side there is pinching/pain. And she's actively eating - so it's not like she's playing or anything. I've tried pulling her in closer; doesn't help. I'll move my boob around a bit to get a bit of relief. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. I'm using a lot of lanolin to help protect my nipple.

None of this happens on the left side.

ODD wasn't nursing when she got teeth, so there wasn't an issue. MDD only had bottom teeth until we stopped nursing at 13 months. I'm at a complete loss. Any input is appreciated.

Chimi, it just takes some getting used to by both of you. She will figure it out, and you will get used it it. I had the exact same issue with both girls, and there isn't much but time that will fix it. :/

It's better now, thankfully. I was seriously tempted to just pump on the right side or - as a last resort - wean her. Thankfully I don't have to do that. She's nursing better on the right; no pain on my end.

Now, if I could just get her to STTN, we'd be in great shape
