    Default Spotting

So, I'm fairly (more than fairly) sure that I am miscarrying. I tested positive using a HPT on Sunday and Monday. I went to the doctor to get bloodwork done on Monday afternoon. They confirmed that I was pregnant (mind you my hcg level was extraordinarly low - 8). I informed the nurse that I've been spotting. On Saturday and Sunday it was pink. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday it is a brownish color. The spotting is very, very light but consistent - heavier in the morning and in the evening. I've also felt cramping varying form barely noticeable to a few sharp pains. The nurse said to come back on Friday to retest and stay hydrated and get plenty of rest (i.e. no excessive pelvic movements). Here are my questions:

-Should I go in for a retest tomorrow (Thursday)? I really would like to find out before the weekend if my hcg level is increasing or not.
-Does this sound familiar to anyone that has miscarried in the past?
-Is there anything that I should be doing now or in my next cycle?

    TIA for your help!

It's up to you, but I would go in for another blood draw - that will tell you if the numbers are going up or down. That will be a good indicator of whether you are miscarrying or not.

How many dpo are you? Some women spot/bleed but dont' miscarry.

If you are miscarrying, unfortunately nothing can really stop it, but you should take care of yourself physically (rest, etc.) and mentally.

    I hope it's not a m/c - good luck.

I am 14 dpo. Thank you for your kind words. I am trying to think positive, but am feeling very discouraged.

I would go in for another blood test just so I could know.

I am sorry and I will keep you in my thoughts. I had a miscarriage in October, so I know how you feel. The not knowing was very hard.

I will be thinking of you.

Thank you for your support this week. I did end up miscarrying. My results are negative and 'm an emotional wreck. This is my 1st documented miscarriage; I believe I had a chemical pregnancy in December as well. It's going to be a long road ahead of us *sigh*.
