Summary: Best flat iron I've owned... from someone with very curly hair
Comment: I read the other reviews and it really prompted me to write one of my own. I have the pink one, which I got through a retail store (Harmon's). It's not fake, and that comment made me laugh a little bit. Part of the purchase profit goes towards breast cancer research, that's why it was pink. I guess you would have no way of knowing that through Amazon, but in Harmon's there was a sign saying so. It's actually why I got the pink one versus the black one. I've had it for over a year and have had no problems. Be careful touching your hair after it leaves the iron, I've scalded my hand more than a few times. Other than that I'm really happy.

Summary: Buyer beware: My Chi flat iron broke within one month of purchase
Comment: I ordered a CHI flat iron for my daughter's birthday this October from a seller in Amazon Marketplace. It worked great at first, then it just stopped working. The light wouldn't go on and it wouldn't heat up. I tried contacting Farouk to get a replacement, but because I purchased via Amazon, the warranty was voided. This fact, that the warranty would be voided if I didn't purchase from an authorized salon, was not communicated to me in any way during my purchase from Amazon. I've tried contacting the Amazon marketplace seller, and have not recieved any response. Basically, I'm out $80 and my daughter is out her birthday present.
