Customer Rating: Summary: Great heater for its size and power Comment: I just received this heater today, so I'm not 100% sure about it yet.
Yes, this heater doesn't heat up as well as the bigger, pricier models because it's small and only uses 300watts. However, I think the heat it emits is almost comparable to the fan heater my roomate uses which uses 1500watts, 5x the power of this little heater. I think if I had 5 of these little ones, the room would become ~3x warmer than with the fan heater.
Pros:
-It's good for warming your feet and hands quickly
-It's very portable
-only 300watts (efficient for its power usage)
-good price
Cons:
-Has a bit of a gaseous smell that my other roomate's dish heater doesn't emit...maybe because this one is so new?
-Only a small area gets heated up
Overall, I'm happy with it.
Customer Rating: Summary: 300 Watt Wonder Comment: Bought five (5) of these nine-inch parabolic reflector radiant heaters and they work well in proper applications. Great space heater for small rooms. Point it towards you and it warms up surfaces, not the air. Regardless of how much you pay per kilowatt/hour, 300 Watts is much less energy consumption than a 750-1500 Watt oil-filled heater or similar. You can lower your whole house thermostat and use space heaters to selectively add warmth when and where needed. This can work much to your benefit if your home has only one or two heating zones. Keep combustibles at least a foot away. The tip-over safety feature is a plus. The orange glow works well as a night light, too. Might I suggest a large dinner plate as the base to protect the surface it is placed on, especially the front.
Customer Rating: Summary: Space Heater Comment: I thought this might be a wee bit bigger than it is, but it is still a decent heater for the money. I use it in my bathroom on the chilly mornings. Kicks off some heat! My dogs also like it.....they congregate in front of it on cold days. I like that it is quiet, as well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Radiative Heater! Comment: There are a lot of reviews saying this thing is TINY, it's not that small. It stands roughly 14" tall and 10" wide, and puts out well more heat than a traditional space heater of three to four times the wattage.
It's very easy to use, no maintenance necessary, absolutely quiet, powerful, precise heat directionality, and heats up very quickly (within 30sec).
---------------------------
The good: powerful, efficient, precise;y targetable, quiet, safe.
The bad: can be a bit bright to have facing you while you sleep, I just aim mine below eye level in my direction and let convection do the rest.
Customer Rating: Summary: buy something else Comment: It's cheap and it uses only 300 watts. Otherwise, it doesn't put out much heat unless you're right in front of it and even so it won't do anything but take off the chill. I thought "what a nice, cheap little heater for our poorly heated basement" but you have to use it within 3-4 feet or else it's worthless. Better would be a quartz heater, by far! Also it doesn't allow you to adjust how it's pointed except by about 20 degrees if that much, so it won't point down nor up very much from horizontal yet the top of it gets quite hot. The cord's not very long and you almost need to put it on a table or something since it's so low to the floor. I can't say I like it much at all.
