Comment: I bought this to replace a VIP25 that stopped working because the cord shorted out after only a year or so of use ..... this one lasted about the same length of time but died a different death ..... not the quality they used to be .....

Comment: I bought this pump to pump out the water from top of the swimming pool cover during fall and winter months. So far it has been doing the job well.I would reccomend this product definitely for this purpose.

Comment: This pump worked great for draining my pondless waterfall the only problem was that the discharge is 1 1/4 and the hose I purchased was 1 1/"2 so off to the plumbing store for a jerry rigged adapter. I would have like the pump to come with 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" after all the discharge hose that they recommend is 1 1/2".

Comment: When I bought the VIP Wayne 1/2 HP submersible pump it was to be a backup source of water, from my swimming pool, to control a possible house fire. In fact, the stream it produces won't even reach the the roof of the house. So much for Wayne pumps for fire protection.

Comment: Previous pump (another brand) was worn out and we also wanted one with the hose connection not on the top. When the hose connection is on top, the pump tips over too easily. We use this to pump water off the solid pool cover on an inground pool. We hope this lasts as long as the last one.
