Summary: Good Product--Horrible Customer Service
Comment: If you buy this, do not expect the company to stand behind its warranty and cover your mattres. The product itself is pretty good but because I bought my PAB cover online two days AFTER I bought my new mattress, they will not pay for any damages to the mattress should the mattress protector fail. I spoke to a rep from the company and confirmed this. The mattress had no stains, I slept on it without the cover for two nights, and they will not honor their warranty.
So, based on other reviews I have seen about these things not being completely waterproof, if you're looking for guarenteed protection of your mattress investment, I would look elsewhere.

Comment: We bought one of these mattress protectors when we bought our new mattress four years ago. It has a 10 year warranty on it, and for the price we paid and the assurances we got from the sales person, we thought it would last that long.
We were misled.
After 2 years, the waterproof coating began delaminating from the terry top, defeating the waterproof feature. I had thankfully saved the packaging, and called the number on the label. A very nice gentleman sounded very confused that we were having a problem, and asked me how I'd been cleaning it. I took care of it as the instructions said to - wash warm/hot, machine dry low. I've got a front-loading washing machine, which is supposed to be gentler than a top-loading, so he couldn't offer me any other solutions, other than to possibly dry it on a lower temp.
A new mattress cover was sent out by protect-a-bed at no charge, and I was particularly cautious in washing it. It was only ever washed in warm water, and dried on either extra-low or air dry cycle (air-dry only would have taken hours to dry, so I switched back and forth every 30 min). The second mattress cover is about two years old, and it is now delaminated.
The mattress cover does what it should - protects the mattress. We both sleep a bit hot in it, which makes my husband sweat, but it wasn't getting into the mattress while the cover was on.
I cannot reccomend a product that has a catastrophic failure 20% of the way through the warranty period, though, no matter if they replace it. It's just too irritating to have to inspect the thing every time I wash it to see if its failing again. I refuse to have it professionally cleaned - because of the sweat issue my husband has with it, it needs frequent cleaning. Not only is that expensive and not how the product was advertised, but it would defeat the purpose of having a mattress cover to have it off the bed two or more nights a month while it was being cleaned.
I am now shopping for a new mattress cover. This was too much trouble for such an expensive product!

Comment: This waterproof mattress pad was not what I expected but it works well. The cloth cover on it is too thin to make it really comfortable and it "crakels" under the body when you change positions. I had to put the regular padded matress cover over it to make it more comfortable. It does keep the mattress dry in case of accidents and that is the most important feature I was looking for, so I guess it is OK.

Comment: I loooove my Tempurpedic matress -- but I made a big mistake in buying the Tempurpedic brand waterproof [sic] mattress cover. Protect-A-Bed's mattress & pillow covers work as advertised. I'm buying a complete set for every mattress and sleeping pillow in our house.
