Create your perfect sleep enviroment with this always accurate atomic clock. Doze off to one of six natural sounds, and know how to dress in the morning with a remote sensor reading of the outdoors temperature. Too lazy to roll over and read the clock face? Project it onto the ceiling instead, both temperature and time. Projection allows for the time and temperature to be displayed on the ceiling

Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointed Comment: This unit seemed unique and had a lot of attractive features. I liked the projected display with time and outside temperature, plus the atomic clock,AM/FM radio,6 sound features, everything really. I brought the first one home and discovered the projection displayed was faulty. I took it back and traded it for another unit. This one did everything but both the temperature readings could be off quite a lot and at night the outside temperature display shuts down just leaving dash marks. I followed the directions to a tee. The transmitter was about 20 ft.away. I really wanted this feature so I went to another store and bought a second unit and it has the same problem with the outside temperature. I can bring the transmitter inside and set it next to the radio and it works alright all night, but this defeats the purpose of having the outside temperature displayed. I've tried this second unit in different parts of the house and had the transmitter outside within 10ft of the radio and it still does not operate properly. I called HoMedics and they say its probably interference from another source. I've tried new batteries and resetting this thing until I'm very frustrated. Other people have written that their unit works fine. I'm happy for the very few. Ive taken two units back and am about ready to take the third one back. Too bad it doesn't live up to it's expectations.
Customer Rating: Summary: WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!!! Comment: I cannot honestly believe that an alarm clock cannot keep accurate time. Isn't that ITS MAIN JOB???? I received this clock as a Christmas gift, and it has not worked at all. I can't rely on this clock...sometimes it is two hours off, sometimes it is ten minutes off. Please do not waste your money on this junk.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not Real Impressed Comment: I've been searching for a sound machine/alarm clock combination machine for a while because I'm a non-clutter person and wanted an all-in-one product that didn't junk up my nightstand. After trying and returning Conair's version, I bought this Homedics version at a local drugstore only to find that the display, like Conair's, is too bright. So I turned off the display and tried the projection option would have been great if I had 20/20 vision, which I don't. So I woke up and had to squint to see what the time is on my wall or ceiling. And in addition to that it again was a little bright for my taste. The radio would only pick up AM reception. Also, the alarm didn't go off in the morning, though it was set - perhaps because I had the sound on all night? That's annoying too. AND... I was really looking forward to listening to ocean waves and there are SEAGULLS in the background? Is anyone else with me on the sound of seagulls not being real easy to sleep to? Needless to say, I'm returning this and will try the sound machine on it's own and keep using my reliable alarm clock. I guess when you try to fit too many functions into one machine quality goes down the drain.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Disappointed Comment: I have to agree with many of the other negative reviews already posted. This is a very difficult clock to use. I bought it six months ago and I have found that I cannot rely on it to wake me up for anything important - I already missed a flight in October because of it. I have never written a product review before but I felt I really should for this item.
The biggest difficulty is the arrangement of buttons and switches and how easy it is to confuse what you are doing. To turn on the alarm, there is a switch in the back that is unhelpfully close to the change-temperature gauge option. These switches also feel the same and it is far too easy to change the temperature rather then set the alarm. And while am knowledgeable about electronics, I will be the first to admit that I can be easily get confused late at night when I am really tired.
I am also sensitive enough to light (perfectly human) that I am highly distracted by the clock's back light - even on the low setting. To me, it's glaring. Simple as that. I am constantly having to turn it on and off to use the clock in the dark. And button to turn it on and off is right next to (and feels the same as) the button to activate the atomic setting, or to change time zones - the worst- which risks the resetting of the time with out releasing it. The volume dial operates in a counter-intuitive way such that up makes the alarm quieter.
And those are the risks of setting the clock the night before. When waking up, that snooze button big and easy to find, but it is nestled amongst 5 other buttons that, when easily pressed, deactivate the alarm for the whole day.
The one feature that I do enjoy is the outdoor sounds - there very nice. But be careful; if you had hit that similar-feeling button that switched the alarm to the soothing sound of a waterfall, you might not wake up. I did.
I am a computer programmer - I work with electronics all day - and I feel like this clock is working against me.
Customer Rating: Summary: All in one item Comment: Love the fact that it's a sound machine and clock radio in the same piece. The clock is atomic so it resets itself automatically (a real plus in areas where power goes out regularly).
