Place this heater fan in the center of the room to take advantage of the 360 degrees surround heating. You can also set the heater to front only to focus the heat in one area. The 360 degree surround heating design makes this a perfect unit to place in the middle of the room to help keep everyone comfortable. This heater features an adjustable thermostat and two heat settings for personal comfort control. The adjustable thermostat maintains the desired room temperature and the extra-long power cord lets you place the unit where you need it most. Safety features include a child-resistant power control, a tip-over switch that disables the unit in the event that it is tipped over, flame resistant plastic and overheat protection. This model also offers the option of 180 degree, or front-only, heating for placement along the wall. Summary: Works as intended with a few drawbacks
Comment: For the price this heater does what it is meant to do however there are a few drawbacks and some situational things that must be known before purchasing this portable surround heater.
The good:
-It worked right out of the box with no assembly.
-It will heat a small room well.
-Relatively quiet.
-Small footprint
-Price
-Child resistant switches
-Begins heating instantly.
The bad:
- With all the warnings on the heater telling you to place the device at least three feet from anything combustible (like curtains or anything cloth), it would have been nice to have more than 5 feet of cord. You also are not recommended to use an extension cord so more length would make this more convenient.
- Heater odor: One needs to get used to a faint smell of burning plastic. Its similar as someone else stated to turning on your car heater (however I feel the odor is stronger than that)
- The auto shutoff incase the device tips over is only applicable if it falls forward or backward, on its side it will still remain on. In addition, this is more of a problem for this device because it heats in a 360 degree range.
What to know:
Although it has a fan and honeywell claims that it is meant to dispense heat in 360 degrees, keep in mind that heat rises so while this is a "surround heater" there is no real direction with the fan. If you want a spot heater get a heat dish instead.
While it says this is energy efficient (they even claim more so than your home heating system), it is only the case if the device is set to the low setting. The low setting however is far too low for any heating purpose. I live in southern california and I still haven't used anything less than the high setting to make this heat my small bedroom. The low setting uses 600 watts, the medium setting 900 watts and the high setting uses 1500 watts of power. If energy consumption is a factor, keep all of this in mind.

Summary: Nice and toasty now
Comment: This is a fine little solution to a cheap husband who won't turn on the heater at home. I just plug in this little space heater in my office and I'm toasty warm in no time! It heats a 12x12' room quickly. It's pretty quiet and easy to control. Good purchase.

Comment: Consumer Reports lists this as a best bargain, the rest being $70+ in price. It says the ownly down side is the noise of the fan. I would agree. I don't notice the fan during the day, but I do sometime at night.
It has two setting for power, and a knob to adjust the temperature setting.
The smaller area between the base and the heater allows room for your hands so you can pick it up. This makes for easy moving of the heater when it's warm and you want to relocate it.
It would be very hard to tip it over, and has all the standard safety features.
I do wish it had a longer cord.

Summary: WARNING! - DANGEROUS FIRE HAZARD!
Comment: Honeywell claims that this space heater has a shut-off safety mechanism when it tips over. Well, it only works if it tips forward or backward. If it tips over on either side, it will continue to run. Being that it has a cylindrical shape, if it tips forward or backward, it can roll to a side position and start running again. Therefore, I would not recommend this item to anyone with small children or pets.

Summary: Small Space Heater
Comment: This is a good little heater, but it does not heat up rooms that are over 400 sq ft. It does heat up a room that's about 150 sq ft, quickly and evenly. I bought it for the room above the garage, but it didn't fare that well. Only heated a small area around the heater, so I to keep moving it around the room.
