If you grew up in the 1940's and 1950's, it's more likely you saw a coffee percolator like this one on your parents' stovetop. The origins of the percolator go back to about 1818 in France. Prior to that, coffee was made in vacuum pots or was boiled. By the middle to late 1800's travelers immigrating to the United States from Europe brought these percolators with them. Many of these pots made coffee for families that used wood stoves on their journey westward. This Farberware model follows that classic design but is made of stainless steel. It's easy to use, clean, and maintain. You can expect years of quality service from this coffee maker. Farberware has added a stay-cool handle to help make pouring a lot easier. It truly is a classic refined.

Customer Rating: Summary: perky perk Comment: I ordered this for my 86 year old mother who was prefers perked coffee and was tired of replacing her electric pots ever other year. It arrived much quicker than expected, ordered Thursday nigh and received on Monday, good quality that should last a long time. Thanks for a great product and service
Customer Rating: Summary: Coffee as it was meant to Taste Comment: Makes coffee just like my Dad made it. I thought his art was lost as I have not made a decent cup of coffee in many years. I have had a sundry of coffee makes over the years. Electric percolators (burnt coffee taste), automatic drip coffee makers (weak and sometimes scorched taste), and automatic drip coffee makers with thermal carafes (weak taste and a pain to clean). I finally bought this percolator after reading its many reviews on Amazon. Finally, coffee as it was meant to taste. For whatever technical reason, this stovetop percolator produces a full and robust cup of coffee. The coffee maker is decently constructed; made of stainless steel vice aluminum; and has a nice polished exterior finish (which for any of you kitchen fashion minded people matches Calphalon Tri-Ply cookware). I am well satisfied with this product and recommend it to anyone interested in a good stovetop percolator at a reasonable price.
Customer Rating: Summary: "Classic" Percolator a/k/a BEST Comment: Oh, what a fabulous, good, old-fashioned (excuse me, "classic") coffee pot this is! I LOVE it, especially the common-sense design of a FLAT sturdy bottom that doesn't allow flames to burn the handle. Whoever started that ridiculous top-heavy, narrow-bottom trend should be flogged. GREAT product, from a TRADITIONALLY ("classic"...?) great company!
Customer Rating: Summary: Classic Percolator Comment: I love this item. Coffee stays nice and hot. I bring to boil slowly and so far the plastic top has not melted as it has for some customers. Very old fashioned looking and I love it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Comment: This is a perfect coffee maker. No electronics to quit at the worst time. Perculates perfectly and I love the stainless steel. No filters to buy and to brew a perfect cup is all in the timing. 7 minutes of brewing is all it takes.
