Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect for busy professionals Comment: My husband and I were spending mucho dinero on our coffee habit -- 20 ounces, whether at Starbucks or at WaWa, of coffee per day sure adds up over the weeks and months. We were determined to save money, and time since coffee shops are well out of our way.
I saw some of the negative reviews about this product, but I was bouyed by the name and the positive reviews I saw as well, so I sunk my money into this coffee machine, and I honestly could not be happier. My husband or I pre-load the machine with coffee and water before bed; when we get up in the morning, we hit the on button, and by the time we're done getting ready, the coffee is hot and ready to go.
I have never had a problem with this coffee machine and would recommend it to anyone with only a few minutes to get ready in the morning and hoping for a way to decrease their coffee bill every week. We used to spend $20 on Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts/WaWa every week for the two of us. Now, we spend $6 on a bag of Newman's Own coffee ever other week. It's excellent!
Customer Rating: Summary: convenient and reliable little coffeemaker Comment: We've had this coffeemaker for about 10 years and use it daily (more than once, often several times) and it is still going strong! It's great for having fresh coffee at any time. My husband will not drink coffee that's been sitting around on a hotplate, and since we drink different types of coffee, this machine is great because we just make it separately. We do have a smaller one-cup coffeemaker, but since we use travel mugs a lot we prefer this one. Our regular coffeemaker gets used only when we have company.
I was surprised by all the negative reviews as our on-off button has never been a problem, we've brewed coffee into all kinds of mugs and cups without difficulty, and it always comes out tasting good. However, I can't comment on the uneven distribution of coffee between two cups since we tend to make one at a time. If that happened you'd have to be there during brewing and remove the cup that filled first and push the other to the center, which would be inconvenient.
For our purposes, this coffeemaker is great.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fatal Flaw in Otherwise Solid Product Comment: Many of the reviews mention that the on/off switch doesn't work after a while. Well, mine broke after just 2 days. This is because there is a fatal flaw somewhere in the manufacturing of the product, and the button simply fails at a very high rate. I bought one of these at a department store, and it didn't turn on/off at all. Then I bought another from Amazon, hoping to fix the problem and get a better deal, but now the button on this one has stopped working after TWO DAYS! Since I love the design of the product otherwise, I went to the store, bought a switch, and wired it in myself. It looks horrible, and I've spent about 2 hours dealing with it, but at least it works.
Should Cuisinart, an otherwise respectable brand, really be putting this kind of garbage on the market? From the looks of the reviews, this switch is failing very often. I don't write reviews of products as a general practice, but this was so infuriating that I took the time to do so.
Don't buy this product unless you want to return it sooner or later because of a broken on/off switch.
Customer Rating: Summary: Cuisinart Two-to-Go Coffeemaker Comment: While I am satisfied with the product, Amazon's shipping via USPS left much to be desired. I was informed to expect it within 6-7 days, and when it didn't arrive, I called twice three days apart and both Amazon and the postal service couldn't locate it. I was given the choice of cancelling the order and re-ordering it (which was out of stock and would take three more weeks), or simply receive a refund. It finally arrived after 10 days-it only traveled about 150 miles to get here!?
Customer Rating: Summary: Not even 2 years old and already shorting out. Comment: I've loved this thermal coffee maker and use it all the time-- so convenient for the person who drinks just one mug of coffee a day. Keeps coffee hot for several hours within the mug, very quickly makes coffee, etc. The easiest one to clean you'll ever see!
However, recently mine has been taking up to half an hour to slowly drip out coffee, and that filled with grounds. I believe it has a short-circuit somewhere within the machine, and it's not worth it to repair it. Too bad-- I got it not even two years ago and I already have to replace it!
