Default First Birthday Party Ideas!

I'm leaning toward a Gymboree party for DD's 1st birthday, but was wondering what other ideas you all have. I'd rather not have something here at our house. There will probably be 7-10 babies invited. Also, what do you think of a "friends party" and a "family party" or a combination/one party? TIA!

Hi Carrie!

I think we're leaning towards a combination party ourselves. We don't have a Gymboree around here. We're doing a watermelon theme (since Anna was born in August) and inviting family and a few friends. As for the rest - to be determined. I've researched some cute cakes and things like that, but that's about it.

The amount of people is a bit large for our current place, so we're probably going to have to get a pavilion at a local park (must get on that).

we had our party at a park, since having it at our house wasn't an option. we hired a woman to entertain the kids (about 10 kids between the ages of 5 mos and 2 yrs) she was awesome and her routine was very, very similar to our gymbo class, parachute and all.

Wow, Carrie! Planning a first birthday party already? Weren't you TTC just the other day? lol. Kidding of course, but time sure flies, especially when you have a beautiful girl like yours!

Enjoy your party!

Subscribing since Kaeden will be 1 in August. I think I'd like to do an airplane or cop theme for him. Not too sure yet.

We are having a luau theme. There won't be that many little kids there, so I wanted to make it enjoyable for the adults too. We are also renting one of those big, inflatable bouncy things for the kids to play on.

Oh we're unoriginal. We're doing cars and blue and white streamers as Edward's theme! And BBQ foods!
