Had my 24w appt yesterday, and I'm still digesting it all, so please forgive the lack of shout outs. The good news: First was the ultrasound, and we're still having 2 little girls. They're measuring 1lb4oz and 1lb6oz respectively, which the tech said was perfect for 24w. I'm up a total of 20lbs, which the doctor is great with, he'd like to see me gain 40 by the time the babies get here, so I'm on track.
The not so good news: my cervix has gone from 4cm at 20w to 2.6cm yesterday. The doctor is not panicking yet, but I am on 8 hour shifts at work effective immediately. And of course, for all their promises of working with me, my boss is being a rather big jerk (not the word I want to use) about it. Rather than letting me come in on other days to make up the 8 hours I'm losing, he's forcing me to dip into my PTO bank instead. Which will quickly deteriorate my PTO for after the babies get here. Either way, if my cervix shortens at all in the next 2 weeks, I'm off work. Likely on modified bedrest- meaning I'm not confined to bed, but I need to take it easy and keep errands which have me up and about to a minimum. I'm trying really hard to stay upbeat, but its tough.

sinder, that is awful about your boss. I'm very glad to hear they are keeping an eye on your cervix though. Here's hoping it stay put where it is and you can avoid bedrest as long as possible.
Do you have any disability coverage at work? Where I am, they do use all of our sick days before using disability but at least I'd be covered 70% after I use them up. Not as ideal as 100% of course, but at least it is something.
sinderstorm I hope you don't need to go on bedrest, but 8 hour shifts doesn't sound so bad to me, it's important to take care of yourself. Too bad your boss is being a jerk about it though.
I'm sick :P Major sinus cold. I went straight from having bad insomnia for a few days to this, really not happy about it. My parents have been helping out a ton, but it makes me feel completely useless and my routine is all disrupted. It is annoying to know if I could just take some nasal spray I would feel almost 100% better because it is all in my sinuses, but I can't.

losthoosier-glad that your leakage was just urine. I have had in the past few days what I considered (TMI) excessive wet discharge and so at my appt today I asked her to check to make sure it was not amniotic fluid. Fortunately it was not, just regular old discharge. I still feel so badly for Scout's loss that I was panicked the same thing was happening to me.
sinder-sorry to hear about your cervix length--did they give you a reason why they thought it happened? Will it lengthen again or are you just trying to keep it from getting worse? (I have no clue about these things ) Sorry to hear your boss is being an ass. Hopefully this modified bedrest will help.
magrat-sorry to hear that you're sick. When it rains it pours.
AFM-I had my one hour GTT today, I don't know when I'll find out the results. That drink is vile--I had Hawaiian punch. Ugh. They only call if you fail to schedule the 3 hour. I'm anal, so I'll call in a few days if I don't hear something either way though! I'm up 1.5 pounds from last month's appt, so I'm really pleased with that. Baby's HB was about 160 or so and he's moving around a lot. Not much else is going on w/me. I'm trying to decide on a nursery theme, oh and a name too! We'd like to do a black crib, changing table, dresser & I'm thinking about a Dr.Seuss themed room. DH seems ok with that, so we'll see. We are not having much luck with names... we have about 8 that we are kicking around, but yesterday DH went back to the drawing board & started all over!
Has anyone chosen nursery themes & want to share? Is anyone's completed yet?
Nursery- Our theme is characters from children's books. Ds has the same theme in his room, but with different characters. I painted it like a mural, with the different characters interacting with each other. I am just waiting for dh to put the bottom color on the wall and then I will get started.
I think a Dr. Seuss nursery sounds cool. I'm thinking about that as a theme for Ds #1's birthday this year.
nursery - We aren't doing a real nursery, but the baby will have a nook in our bedroom. Our room is decorated in shades of taupe and brown with red accents, and I have these random crib sheets left over from DS2 (they were never opened), so we're going to go with that. The khaki color matches our walls perfectly. His "dresser" is a bookcase with baskets on the shelves, so I am going to buy coordinating receiving blankets and use them to line the baskets, and maybe buy a couple of wooden airplanes to sit on the shelf too.
We're going this weekend to buy our crib, and I'm hoping to have the "nursery" put together before Christmas. I'd like to get it out of the way so that I can spend the last 3 months getting everything else in the house in order. I feel like I have a lot to do - I really want my closets and storage spaces to be much better organized before the baby gets here.
Just got back from my ultrasound, everything looked good fluid was perfect so it appears that there is no leak.
We also got confirmation that DD2 is in fact a girl, everytime they have said yes.... but probably 80%.... well today it was 100%.... I saw it for myself.
The pictures were amazing this time. very clear. DD2 looks identical to DD1 via ultrasound.
I will not know how far I am based on size until next or the week after next, but the tech did state she looked healthy.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and gets some rest before all the holidays begin.
