maniach - 6 hours...that sucks! Luckily I was only out of it til they wheeled me into recovery a half hour later. I just remember with DS, we got a great family pic in the surgery room and I was able to touch him, etc. When DH tried to bring me DD this time around, I told him I couldn't handle seeing her at the moment - thinking back on that makes me sad so I can only imagine how much harder 6 hours must have been!

McG - I hope the end is near soon!!

dollface -- I did see her in the OR and "held" her, but I was totally out of it. It would have been really disconcerting if I hadn't done that because I had to ask more than once for them to bring her to me (I don't know if they were concerned about my sedation or they wouldn't bring her to the recovery room or what the deal was, but I know I asked more than once). I can only imagine your sadness at not even having that moment.

Well 3+ cm and 75% effaced. She said my cervix was very stretchy. Yowzers, she could have gone without proving it to me! Ouch.

My bp is still good, so no real reason to induce me this time around. It's strange still being pregnant. I was fully expecting to have had this baby by now. Guess it just shows how every pregnancy is different.

Got the covers for the swing, car seat and bouncy seat washed last night and the new mattress taken upstairs for the crib. Then we went to dinner and I was apparently tired. After Megan went to bed I sat down to watch So You Think You Can Dance on my DVR and next thing I knew it was about 3 hours later. I blame the couch. It's just too comfy

And I managed to get one of my tasks completed at work. So things are starting to come together over here. (nothing like waiting till the last minute)

HA! The closer I get to my due date, the more meetings people are trying to schedule with me here at work.

It's going to be a total pain in the butt to notify all these people if I have this baby before then.

Alegna That just figures...nothing like waiting, huh?

Had my ultrasound and NST this morning. They estimate the baby to be 7 lb 13oz, heartbeat was 136 and NST was all good -I had to stay for more like 30 minutes, because his heartrate didn't accelerate until we were at the 20 minute mark, so they had me stay a bit longer. Anyway, everything looks good for me to continue being pregnant -oh the joy!

I hope the rest of you ladies get to hold your little ones soon.

Nunzio is home and is on the monitor. Today has been a rough day all together. He is finally sleeping which he has barely done all day. I think he didn't eat much which led me to get engorged like crazy. At 4 I pumped over 4 oz of milk from each breast. It felt so good to do that.

Right now he is breastfeeding which is taking a toll - he falls asleep not too long after he gets some milk in his tummy. While we are at the hospital, I breastfed him during the day and at night we had him bottle fed. He doesn't get confused on the nipple which is good. I think tonight we are going to bottle feed him and then I will pump. I feel horrible for even considering doing that but that is what he is used to with being in the NICU.

We have had a rough day and I feel like Debbie Downer.

KLU -- I'm glad you are home from the hospital. I'm sure if Nunzio isn't sleeping you are having lots of crying on your hands. I would totally be Debbie Downer, too. I hope you feel better soon!

Last night was good. We got tons of sleep with feeding him from the bottle. I have considered just pumping and feeding him the breast milk. I have no problem with production. At the same time, I feel guilty for wanting to give up so soon. My DH says to keep trying but he knows that is easier said than done.

KLU - I had to pump and feed my first daughter by bottle because she just wasn't a good nurser. It doesn't make you a bad mom, breast milk is still good from a bottle. Hang in there!
