This is what I wear to the gym & running, but not really out and about!

You can also invest in a nice warm up jacket and just wear it over your regular gym clothes. I got a really nice one at the Nike website. They have a huge sale section on their website. I also go to the Nike outlet as well during holidays. I love their cotton sports tee. I also buy workout wear from Target and Costco. Costco has Addias.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the lululemon brand, which I had never heard of. While it looks like nice workout wear, I probably wouldn't wear it outside of the gym. My workout wear is a hodge podge collection of items I have picked up over the years, usually for $10 or so, at either TJ Maxx, Filene's Basement and the like. It works for the gym.

That being said, for the morning assembly, I'd probably invest in a few of those coordinated type workout ensembles, from adidas, nike or danskin.

Thanks for all the suggestions! After looking at the lululemon and lucy websites I have to admit I was speechless. I had no idea you could spend so much on workout clothes! I may try to hit the store sales rack, or possibly splurge for some really nice ones around the holidays. Any recommendations for specific pants (used more for running than anything else)?

I'm not trying to look uber hip or trendy, I just want to avoid the ill fitting "saggy butt" look that I have with my ON stuff!

has anyone purchased anything from athleta, gap's new brand of workout clothing? their prices are obviously higher than ON etc., but definitely more affordable than lululemon. some of their pieces look nice, but not being able to try them on before ordering i'd love some real-life opinions.

Athleta rocks. They have been around for a while, but was just bought by the Gap over the summer. I have a lot of their stuff and the quality is very, very good. I really like their underwire bra tank tops for the summer.

I also tend to get my things at Lucy. We have a store just a hop, skip and jump from me. I find their sales pretty good when you catch them.
