    Good morning!
It's been years since I've attended a Bat Mitzvah. The ceremony is a Fri evening so I am wearing synogague attire.
The reception is Sun from 12-4. Is it ok to wear a red dress?

    TIA!

I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be ok. At the bar mitzvah party my cousin made for her son recently, she was wearing a stunning red gown.

I've never heard of a bat mitzvah split up like that though. And I thought the service portion was always on a Saturday? But I'm no expert on that!

It is strange to be split up. I was quite surprised when we got the invitation.

    Thanks for your input.

Anyone still around here? I'm at the point where I'm signing my DS (soon to be 5) - up for hebrew school! Wondering if anyone else is still around?

When I posted before I forgot to mention that you should both check out www.pjlibrary.org. You can sign up to get a free book with Jewish content sent to your house monthly. My kids love getting new books in the mail every month and most are pretty good. They are often about upcoming holidays. If any of you are hebrew speakers there is another program to get monthly free hebrew books as well.

Thanks, spps! We do already get the pjlibrary books - love them!

I don't know if my son is excited or not (or really realizes yet) - but I think hewill like it. I am just having a hard time with the thought of him starting kindergarten, and then having 3 hours of Sunday school on top of that every week! But, I think it will be ood - and will help me learn more (remember more!) too =)

Robyn - I am sure he will do fine. Is he doing full day K? If so then 3 hours on Sunday will just seem like a short school day for him and I am sure he will have a blast. My kids are in a Jewish private school and holidays are much more fun when the kids come home with projects and are knowledgeable about everything.
