    Default Beadboard vs Wainscoting?

We're converting a guest room into a nursery and I love the cottage look. I'm wondering if there is a difference between wainscoting and beadboard? If so, what is the the difference?

Any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Beadboard is a type of wainscoting. Wainscoting definition:
    1. A facing or paneling, usually of wood, applied to the walls of a room.
    2. The lower part of an interior wall when finished in a material different from that of the upper part.
Typically nowadays they are (mis)used interchangeably. But another kind of paneling would be wainscoting as well.

Thanks, Tanya! Do you know how beadboarding may differ from other types of wainscoting?

It's the paneling made up of 3.25" strips repeating. You can buy it in 4'x8' panels but that's not the "authentic" beadboard. The real stuff pieces together with teeth: Here's an example:

I would use the fake panels, myself, since it's cheaper and looks similar, but I can't speak from experience.
