Nothing coming out interesting for the rest of this week, but next week is Fantastic Four and Murderball which is a documentary about quadrapalegic rugby teams, which looks pretty good.
July 15th is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp.
For some, August 5th is of interest for The Dukes of Hazzard although I probably will wait for that to come on HBO.
August 12th, God help us, there is the new Deuce Bigelow movie.
August 19th opens Asylum with Ian McKellan and Natasha Richardson (aka Mrs. Liam Neeson, I love them both) the new animated film Valiant (by the Shrek crowd), the main character voiced by Ewan McGregor.
September 30th is Philip Seymour Hoffman as Capote which I'm really interested to see, as I had many times met Truman Capote when I spent my summers in Sag Harbor, NY. Tragic man!!
October 7th - Wallace & Grommit
October 28th - The Legend of Zorro. I must admit, I like Antonio Banderas in this role... and Catherine Zeta-Jones looks like she's gonna kick some butt herself!!
November 4th is Disney's Chicken Little
November 11th is Rent: The Movie
NOVEMBER 18th - HARRY POTTER and the Goblet of Fire
December is Remake Month:
December 9th - The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe - I'm looking forward to this, but I really love the cheesy animated one. This better be good!!

Oh, yes...how can I forget the stand-up cardboard marquee that's in the movie theater with the Leaning Tower of Pisa strategically placed.
And DH has talked about "The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe." I'll probably see it...I liked the book and I really LOVED the BBC versions of the books.
I must read the Harry Potter book before I see the movie.

Producer John Singleton made Flow the talk of Sundance, after Paramount and MTV Films bought the picture for $9 million and a two-picture commitment to Singleton. The film went on to win an audience award, which is not too bad for the relatively unknown Brewer (set to write and direct Black Snake Moan next), who's bringing crunk to the big-screen right before a new hip-hop movement takes its place at the top of the gravy train.
The Last Days - July

Gus Van Sant's meditation on the final hours of Kurt Cobain's life finds the director now firmly planted in the experimental style of his early work. But in comparison to his last two films, Days' subject matter alone is grabbing more attention than Gerry managed (even in infamy); the hipster-friendly cast (bonus points and a pair of Pro Keds if you can spot Harmony Korine) is helping it become more high-profile than even Elephant. Expect long, beautifully composed shots, and, from what we hear, some heavy-handed imagery.

Embroiled in a situation in the Middle East, Baer's job is complicated by Beltway politics, as well as unexpected personal crisis involving an American oil executive about to close a deal with an oil sheik.
Hopefully this will prove Gaghan's meddle as a director (he majorly flailed with Abandon) since he's back in the socio-political world that earned him such acclaim. More ambitious than Traffic, his best screenplay to date, Syriana is loosely based on the memoirs of Robert Baer -- we're saying "loosely" at this point because we don't have any idea if the film will address the juiciest part of Baer's career (look at the first couple links here to see what we mean). Could this be Clooney's biggest role yet?
Just Like Heaven - September
A sad and lonely San Francisco architect (Ruffalo) falls in love with the beautiful spirit of a woman (Witherspoon) who appears to be inhabiting his home. Turns out, however, she's just in a coma. And if he doesn't do something soon, she'll be taken off life support.
We are 99.9% sure that when this movie was greenlit, it was not pitched as a rom-com spin on the Terri Schiavo case; still, it will have to overcome the specter of that past media frenzy in order to assert itself as just a light and fluffy date movie. And with perky Witherspoon, dreamy Ruffalo, and agile director Mark Waters (Mean Girls, Freaky Friday), we'll give it a sporting chance at doing so. Jon "Napoleon Dynamite" Heder has a supporting role.
In Her Shoes - October

Shopgirl - October

Kinda stoked for the feature version of Martin's perfectly simple novella, which became a major best-seller. Jimmy Fallon was originally set to star as Jeremy, and we were relieved when Schwartzman got the role. None of this explains how director Tucker (Hilary and Jackie) got the job, however.
Bee Season - October

Director McGehee returns with his follow-up to The Deep End, though this time around someone else is handling the screenplay; Naomi Foner Gyllenhaal -- yes, Maggie and Jake's mom -- adapted the novel by Myla Goldberg. Co-star Minghella -- yes, Max's son -- is proving he's a Fall; he makes his debut as George Clooney's son in Syriana (mere weeks before Bee), and stars in another September release, Art School Confidential.
Jarhead - November
imdb.com: Six months in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait offers a series of dramatic and traumatic experiences for Marine Anthony "Swoff" Swofford (Gyllenhaal) as he fights in Operation: Desert Storm.
Jake Gyllenhaal beat out Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire in order to portray Swofford, the former Marine who published his Gulf War memoir in 2003. Dealing with a range of topics, from his boredom and losing his girlfriend, to being shot at by Iraqis and Americans, Swofford's story will obviously attract considerable hype and controversy. Good thing Mendes and Gyllenhaal are no strangers to attention. The director, actor, and the picture itself could nab Oscar nominations; not to mention Oscar-winning editor Walter Murch, who's working on the picture with most of his Cold Mountain crew.
Rent - November
imdb.com: Friends in New York City's East Village struggle with life, love and AIDS.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning play based on the Puccini opera gets the Hollywood treatment from emotionally manipulative director Columbus, who partnered with Revolution Studios to tackle the long-gestating project. To distance it even further from its Bohemian roots, the entire movie is being shot in San Francisco. To compensate, though, most of the original cast will be back -- albeit eight years older.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - November

Hogwarts, meanwhile, is prepping for the Quidditch World Cup, where the school's team will face-off against two other academies, the Beauxbatons and the Durmstrang.
In the most-obvious press release ever, director Newell indicated that he was going to continue with the dark themes and visuals introduced by Alfonso Cuarón in The Prisoner of Azkaban. For Harry's young fans, however, the announcement was lost amongst their confusion as to who exactly Mike Newell is. I'm not saying that Four Weddings and a Funeral is a bad movie (it's terrible); I'm saying that Newell would have been the right choice for GoF if Harry and his crew either [A] decide to infiltrate the mob, or [B] all become women and enroll at Wellesley.
