Big Boy/Big Girl Rooms

TrulyBlessed - that room is so cute! What color is the paint and also where did you get the bedding?

We ended up getting white furniture from Ikea and we painted the room (lavender). Now I just need to decide on the bedding and DH needs to put the furniture together

.

What is everyone doing for bedding? I don't know whether to get a comfortor, a quilt, a duvet or just a blanket for DD. She will only be about 19 months when we move her to her new room. Also, when can she start using a pillow? I bought a really flat pillow that I think will be OK.

I can't remember the name of the paint color but it's from Sherwin Williams. The bedding is from PBK which I bought last spring so they obviously don't carry that line anymore. Good luck with your search. In regards to pillow, I think we gave it to our DD right after she turned 1.

surfed into this thread tonight, and thought I'd post a few pics of my DS's big boy room that we did up for him just before he turned two (he'd been in a bed since 17 months). It's still a bit of a work in progress, but we're almost there. We've since added the matching night stand from the furniture series we bought (Sears "Treasure Island"). The bed is now moved a little more to the right and the night stand is in that corner to the left of the bed.

Looking in from the door...the colourful thing hanging from the end of the shelf is an airplane pinata that hangs from a little ribbon. Might be hard to tell in the photo!

The airplanes above the closet... soon I hope to buy several more of these (unpainted from MIchaels) and paint more of them and put up some sort of a border along a couple of walls. I think...

At the foot of the dresser, I don't have a pic of it, but it's a blue rug with airplanes and helicopters:

Connorsmommy - Great job on your DS's room. I have to wait until we move (in July) to start on DS's room -- so this is great inspiration.
