Can I join? I'm going back for my masters in education (with a reading concentration) in the fall. After I'm done with the program, I'll probably try to get certified as a reading specialist. I'd love to join and get an idea of how those already in the field are coping and see if ya'll have any advice.

As posted on WC, I am a teacher as well.

I had one hell of a year this year. I came in, mid year and created a class of 3/4 graders. They came to my class after Winter Break and finished the year with me. THey were everything you did not want in a class.

I moved counties and I am now going to be teaching about 10 minutes from my home (compared to the hour I was driving). I am estatic, although I don't know what grade level I have because of enrollement. I have a feeling it will be 3rd, which I HOPE!

I'm a 4th grade teacher. I've done 1st-3rd as well...4th is a different case altogther...but they grow on you. Next year I'll be team-teaching...I'll teach ELA and Social Studies and my partner will teach Math and Science. I'm really looking forward to it (the 5th grade circuit does the same thing but this is the 1st year we've had a large enough 4th grade class)

Checking in! I'm an elementary school Speech Therapist. I'm switching school districts too in the fall and I'm so excited about it (except that the old teacher didn't clean up any of her shit, but oh well)

    Jessica,
The teacher that left my classroom took all the baskets, but dumped everything that was in them out! Don't worry though, she VERY generously left me a HIDEOUS "HAPPY BEARDAY"(Happy Birthday) poster framed in gold. OH YES that went directly into the trash! SO SORRY IF THAT'S HANGING IN SOMEONE'S CLASS!
