Just bumping this up..DH and are spending a week in London and a week in Paris next summer on our anniversary trip. I'll comb back through this thread for ideas but am wondering if anyone loved their hotel when they were in Paris? Also any tips for things not to miss?? I'd love to have some insider advice. TIA!
Dizzy~ We have not gone yet, but are planning to stay here/ when we go to Paris this summer. It seemed like a great location for us to be able to walk to a lot of the sights we want to see, wasn't terribly expensive and had some great reviews on travel sites. I'll be back and post about how it was once we return. Are you planning a trip?
Thanks so much for the recommendation, gardenmommy! Yes, we are planning a trip - we booked flights for May 27 - June 3 and are beyond excited. We've been wanting to go for years, and we finally decided to stop talking about it and just do it. That hotel you posted looks awesome! Let me know if you found anything else in your research! =)

Giving this a bump. Just booked my June trip to Luxembourg and I'm trying to decide where to spend my free weekend. I think both the Alsace area and Riems would be good picks based on how close they are. There are a few posts earlier in the thread but any newer info?
The cathedral is definitely the main draw in Reims (and it is amazing), but there's also a museum or two, some shopping, and all the wine caves in the area. It's super fun to do a day of Champagne tasting down in the limestone caves. Depends on what you're looking for.
I'll be with a coworker and she visited Strasbourg just last year. So we're going to give Reims and Epernay a try. I love champagne, so a day visiting the champagne caves sounds wonderful to me. It looks like several are open on Sunday as well, which is helpful. If the weather is nice, I think it'd be nice to rent bikes and ride through some of the countryside.
My sister is going to the Netherlands for work in July (brat just got back from Malaysia and Indonesia in May ) She's thinking of taking a weekend trip to Paris. She'll be traveling alone so definitely would need a safe hotel near "things". But, cost efficient as her side trip would come out of her own money.
