Default Black and white wedding pictures

A friend of mine is getting married and wants to do a black and white wedding. She can't find any pictures and is afraid it won't look good. Please post any pictures you might have

Here is one photographer that I looked at that does mostly B&W but also does some color - Massimiliano Morlotti.

This is the photographer that I am actually using. They do almost all B&W - weddingphotos. The photos here are a little harder to judge by bc Italy provides a great background to most of the shots .

My sister had a black and white wedding last year and it looked amazing. I don't have any of the pics uploaded but will try to remember to do so this week.

She did go with very vibrant flowers in all shades of pinks & reds to make a bold statement with the flowers. Her cake was a square tiered white frosted one with black ribbon around the base of each layer. Her tables had white tableclothes & chairs with black napkins and floral centerpeices. She used crystals and rhinestones as accents for her invitations, programs, the cake top, etc. It was very elegant and formal and actually affordable.

That sounds like exactly what she's envisioning! It sounds lovely

Oops I mis-read your original post! Sorry.

My best friend in HS did a black & white sweet 16. Not the same as a wedding, but close enough. She is Jewish and did not have a big Bat Mitvah so her parents went all out on her Sweet 16 for her. Unfortunately I don't have any pics anymore but it was great. She did black & white everything except her own dress which was red (nothing like standing out a little huh?). Actually you didn't really notice it *that* much bc the hall itself had dark red walls and wood floors. She also accented with crystals and white christmas lights (these were built into her NYC theme actually).

This is totally my opinion as a wedding photographer who has seen *lots* of weddings. I am not a big fan of b&w weddings (as opposed to b&w wedding photography, which I love! ).

I understand the desire for elegance and so forth, but IMO, the monochromatic scheme is ... well ... boring and static. I much prefer weddings where there is a color or colors. Anything will do - bold bright colors, subdued classy colors, whatever. A wedding can have lots of color and still be elegant and classy.

I finally got around to uploading some of my sister's pics. Here are a few of them (these are ones DH or I took, I don't have pro ones)

The bridesmaids (my sisters and I)

    The cake

My sister, her Dh and ILs. Her husband and his family is British, so they all wore hats to the wedding

The sweetheart table. You can sort of see the napkins and favor boxes here.

I guess I didn't take any of the room or tables, which is a shame since they were beautiful. The room had a lot of natural light, which I think helped with the use of black. They had white table clothes and chairs with black napkins and chair sashes. She had floral centerpeices that looked similar to the bridesmaid's bouquets, which did add color. Then she scatted crystals and rhinestones around with small tea lights. I hope that helps.
