I like Wright socks (the double layer ones) - they're the only socks that don't give me blisters over long distances. However, if you're not particularly blister-prone, they may be overkill.
I like the moisture wicking WigWam socks you can buy at REI. I was able to run 18 miles in them without a blister and they are so comfortable. Definitely my favorite pair of running socks.

At the beach life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour, but mood to moment.
We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun.
Hi Robyn,
Count me in. I have been doing running regularly since last 7 months and lost 41 lbs with exercise and diet plans. Never been to any marathon but here to motivate you. Best of luck in NYC Marathon and do share your experience with us also.
I have a question for you all. The side of my right shin hurts. It runs along the bone and just feels bruised. I don't think it's shin splints since its on the side. But what could that be and is there anyway to stretch it? I've been doing interval running (sprinting at 8.5-8.9 for 45-60 secs then walking at 4.0 for 60 secs) and usually go about 40-45 min.
