I haven't been here (on CC) in a long time, but I recently took up running and was looking for a group of people who were starting to run too. I've gone out for maybe 6 runs and have been doing the stairs (up and down the 7 flights in my building -- 10-12 times). I've been using Run Keeper... Anyone else starting to run?

We are on week 2 at this point, so today will be W2D2. It has been pretty difficult for me so far. I was shocked at how out of shape I am...oh well!! Sticking with it though~~!!!!

Nice BethnJim! Definitely stick with it... Today was my longest run thus far at 3.79 miles and it wasn't too bad.

I just wanted to come in and share something with you all. Had it not been for Constant Chatter, I would have never found the Couch to 5k program, and I would have never started running again. I graduated Couch to 5K in the fall of 2009, ran 3 half marathons in 2010, and I just completed my first full marathon.

So, I just wanted to say that even if you're struggling now, just push through. You WILL become a runner. It just takes time, patience, and dedication! You can do it!

Thank you, udsweetpea. You are doing amazing!! Thank you for the update and inspiration.

I am doing the C25K program right now. I am on Week 5, Day 2. I am running a 5K in July with my twin sister for our 40th birthday. I want to make my 40s my healthiest decade yet. I haven't run in a couple of weeks, though, because we've been traveling. I was planning to go back today but now we have snow and the gym daycare is closed, so it'll be another day before I can get back on track. Right now, because the 5K is in July, I am doing each week of the C25K program as a "month" - since I haven't exercised in quite a while before last January (2010) and need more time to get up to speed. So I am making the program work for me.

I know so many people now, mainly from here and LJ, who have done C25K, become runners, and never looked back. I want that to be me in a few months.

I totally fell off the bandwagon and would like to get back on. It stinks that I let it go when I was making progress. Oh well!!

W1D1--starting over. Proud of myself because I ran EVERY SINGLE section. Much better than the last time. Hopefully I can do the 10 weeks!!

Bethnjim - It sounds like you should be able to complete the training. You have an idea on what it takes and usually the second round is better. Good luck!

While I didn't do the couch to 5K program, I run my first 5K on May 1st. I am so excited!
