I might be in the minority here but I love the challenge of hills. Especially the hard ones that I eventually don't have to stop. I think it is harder to run outside but that is what I love. No walls just fresh air. I love when the season changes and it smells like soccer.

My first run back was 1.7 miles.

I just wanted to let you all know that you ladies have completely inspired me. I have been feeling very tired and out of shape and just clicked on this thread today for the first time and read 30 pages. I downloaded the C25K app and took my first run today and I made it through it! I am tired but feeling really motivated and am actually excited to go again Sat. That is so wierd to type because I have always hated running. Anyway thanks for the inspiration and I will be following along.

Hmm..I had posted last night, but it's not here. In any case...

bensgirl - thanks for posting about the 20 minute run! It's helping me think I can get through it!

KLU - wow, great first run back! I'm impressed!

AFM, didn't run this morning, but am leaving work early, so I may try to do it this afternoon. Otherwise, will do W5D3 tomorrow. Depending on how it feels, I may abandon the intervals as others have done, but we'll see.

    I did this as well.

I think running outside is harder than running on a treadmill but I LOVE running outside and would pick that over running inside any day. I think a lot of it is just what you prefer.

I know everyone is different. I ran today in my new actually bought from a running store sneakers and man what a difference.

My toes had been really crammed and when I did the 4.5 miles I really felt them rubbing - today I broke them in with an easy 2.5 and they feel great. I have a longer run planned with a friend for the morning.

W5D3 done!! I did the 20 minutes and stopped 2x for about 8 seconds each. Not too bad. I was feeling great for the first 10 minutes and then made the mistake of looking at my watch. Made the last 10 minutes a little harder. Must try not to look at my watch next time.

Another fan of outside vs. the treadmill. I started C25K back in December/January, so the treadmill was my only option, and I use it for most of the program. The first time I ran outside though, whoa! It was the hardest run I've ever done! I was so not prepared for it. Never thought there would be such a difference. And the time definitely goes by much faster outside.

See I guess I don't get bored on the treadmill bc I listen to my iPhone and watch a tv show (usually a home improvement show on HGTV so I don't have to actually hear the show to understand what's going on). I am however looking forward to doing the trail tomorrow! I'm going to do the 20 min straight on the treadmill today and then the trail tomorrow morning. I'll be back with my report

Oh and besides I really like to know how fast I'm running, how far I've gone and how many calories I burned.
