Sorry for the totally random thread title, but I am brainstorming a few ideas on how to preserve my son's first board books. I prefer not to keep the entire set of books for logistical reasons, so was thinking about this print from Etsy that's been seen on the blogs:
I would love to do this myself, but I know myself and I don't start and finish projects in a timely manner. I was thinking of just artfully arranging the books and photographing them, but I really like the ink and watercolor look. I was also thinking of just slicing off the bindings (really easy with board books) and gluing them behind a long shadowbox type frame. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!
Instead of having "answers" on a math test, they should just call them "impressions," and if you got a different "impression," so what, can't we all be brothers?
I would start with taking a picture and then either photoshopping it or using photo apps to make it look like a drawing or painting etc. and see how you like that.
That's a good idea! I have a photoshop action for that...totally forgot about it. That was another project I was going to do...do that treatment to some wedding photos and have them printed on canvas, lol.

That's really cute. For board books, I might try taking a pic of the cover and arranging them in a patchwork style. If you had a lot, you could make them kind of thumbnail sized, or larger for less books. That would be really cute in our playroom, hmmm!
I think I am going to assign the photography portion of this project to my husband, but I suspect an even easier solution is to look for high resolution cover art. Hmmmm.
That's cute too, laura! I think a series would be cute, so every couple of years as interests change, we do the same kind of thing.
