Thanks so much for the new replies. I've been talking with DH here and there, and he really wants to do the train ride that Sin mentioned, as do I. I have a close family friend that has lived in Mesa for nearly 30 years, and she also recommended staying in Scottsdale.
I think the next few weeks will be about deciding what we want to do. We have decided on renting a car while there. I think it will give us the best opportunity to do what we want, when we want to do it.
