Not the most reliable source but I heard a DJ on the radio today say that all three of Tom's wives filed for divorce from him when they were 33. Maybe the contracts are up when they turn 33 - ha.

I never quite understood why she married him. At age 26, sure she may have had a poster on her wall of him as a child, but she seemed old enough to make good decisions. She had a promising career ahead of her and she didn't seem like the materialistic type that would marry him for his money or to be part of an A-list couple, so it doesn't appear on the outside that she needed this marriage. What in the world could they have promised her in order for her to agree to it? All the rumors were already out there by the time they got together and even more so after they did get together but before they got engaged. And she'll never be able to write a tell-all book so we'll probably never know.
I saw a headline about that today. Interesting. Sea Org is pretty scary, but I'm sure Suri would have been more nicely treated than most members. If you haven't read it, here is a site where former members talk about what really happens there. exscientologykids.com/seaorg.html
Not that I am trying to defend Tom as I do think he is a whackadoo, but Katie is probably even worse. She knew he was whackadoo, but had a kid with him and married him anyway - possibly seeing the ultra glamorous lifestyle?? Who knows for sure? Now that he is being the person she married and wanting to raise his child in a way that should not be a surprise to her, she is fleeing from him for her daughter's safety? Maybe she should have considered Tom's character and religious views a little more seriously before she decided to have his baby. Now it's Suri who will pay the price by losing her father...if Katie gets her way.
Not saying that Suri would be better or worse if Katie gets sole custody, but it's unfair of Katie to make herself to be a victim when she should have known what she was getting herself into when she decided it was a great idea to have his child.

I was friends with someone who knew Scarlett Johanssen well around the time Tom and Katie got together and remember hearing pretty much this version of her role, with a little more detail.
Hmmmm, a fun article to read for amusement but I really find alot of it hard to believe. Also, why did the article keep referring to Tom as Tom Cruise Mark IV*? Even the most basic fan knows that his birth name is Thomas Cruise Mapother IV. Looks like someone didn't do a whole lot of fact checking.
As for Tom leaving Nicole Kidman when she was pregnant, there were massive rumors at the time that she had an affair with Ewan McGregor while they were filming "Moulin Rouge". I find it very hard to believe that Tom would leave his wife while she was pregnant with HIS child. At the very least it's a new little Scientologist but mostly because they had two adopted children together to which he has always shown love and affection. Why would he turn his back on his pregnant wife carrying his child? Oh, because it wasn't HIS child and he knew it. At the time, Nicole was ALL OVER the place, on every talk show and in every magazine talking about how much she loved Tom, etc. and Tom was nowhere to be found. Honestly, that was the one time I had a lot of respect for Tom. His statement was basically "Nicole knows what happened" and left it at that. He pretty much disappeared while she was yelling from the rooftops that he left her while she was pregnant with his child, not realizing that it made HER look suspect, not him.
Back to the matter at hand, I do question Tom and Katie marrying for love because the whole relationship came from out of nowhere. I do think it was a business arrangement. I also remember Katie's disappearing/appearing baby bump. She was like 12 weeks pregnant and already had a belly button popping baby bump and then a week later it would be gone. That was just weird. However, Suri looks like both Katie and Tom so while I am betting on IVF or IUI, I do think she is Tom's biological child. Either way, I honestly don't think this divorce is going to get ugly. I think this arrangement was so well legally set up that's it's just a matter of reviewing the documents and moving forward with the original agreement.
*Okay, I just figured out that in the article they were referring to Mrs. Tom Cruise III and Mrs. Tom Cruise IV as being the third and fourth wives but what's up with the "Mark" name?
