    Thanks for the suggestions! I think some sort of print in there is a great idea. Maybe the wainescotting then a bold wallpaper above that is a good idea.

    I would use the overhead light to my advantage and would do a floating shelve above the toilet with a rectangular box full of tall, curly willow branches (or something tall, sculptural, interestingly shaped, and preserved) or I would do a series do 3-dimensional plaques stacked vertically.

    I would wall mount a cabinet above the toilet for toilet paper, personal items, etc. I would put a small wastebasket in there, maybe beadboard or board and batten on the lower half, and consider a paint treatment like shown in the picture near teh bottom of teh page - actually a laundry room - but thr colors could work well for a bathroom.

    We did something a little less conventional...
    I stained a piece of plywood, attached it to the wall and then hung glass shelves and accessorized.

    This is what we did. Put in a cabinet for bath towels and cleaning supplies and we have the wastebasket in there.
