Wow Alegna, a shower for a 5th child? That's crazy!
5th Grandchild! My sisters first baby.
eczema Lily has a patch on her cheek. I can't seem to get it to go away completely. I've taken her to the doctor for a line of what I thought was eczema up her arm. It's from her wrist up to her upper arm. Doctor said it was a type of birth mark and that it generally goes away by age 3. It's faded, but it's still there.
Ooh, I hate car expenses!! It's always so expensive and nothing fun.
Skin/Eczema: The derm said she does have eczema, albeit a mild case. She said that after every bath, we should put CeraVe cream all over her body. Apparently it works wonders at controlling eczema. In case anyone wants to get it, this is what she recommended: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...GV470RMM4F30M9

Oh, haha! I was thinking a shower for a 5th baby is a little much!
Eczema B has it and my older one had it (but outgrew it). We use a combination of over the counter hydrocortisone cream and then an eczema lotion. We do that morning and night in the winter (when it's at its worse) and as needed during the summer. Maybe we'll have to try that CeraVe cream, let us know if it works! I'm hoping B outgrows it, too. I hate that they can't have bubble baths! (Well, technically, A could, but he would never take a bath without his little brother!)
Eczema - Nunzio has had it since about 6 months old. We have prescription hydrocortisone and that seems to work when needed. Though he got some on
his legs and arms while on vacation. We are almost out, so keep us posted on how it works.
Nunzio has a speech evaluation on Friday for individual therapy. It should be interesting because he has improved so much.
We pretty much have Nunzio's bday party planned since we are getting the Cardinals mascot to make an appearance. So Cardinals theme it is. Hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, etc.
That stinks Poca! Is your hot water heater gas or electric? Maybe it's just the pilot light went out or some gfi needs to be reset in the house?! We tried to find a hotel room last Saturday (before the power came back on) and there were literally no rooms within 100+ miles. I was ready to lose it after a day without power in this heat (I just don't do well when I'm hot). I think after 6 days I would be pulling my hair out.
Not sure...it was back by Sunday, but we have electric and OH! You don't have to remind me about finding a hotel room that Saturday...we spent 3 hours literally combing the internet for a hotel room. I mean you'd think downtown at the Harbor with all the "big name" hotels there surely they'd have something although I knew since we were going into the 4th of July holiday it would be crowded, but nope! Believe it or not we ended up in Edgewood! Yeah, as in Harford County! That was the closest hotel...'course the next night DH checked downtown again and we found something since I guess some people had checked out after the first night. So we ended up coming back to the Harbor the next night but still. Talk about a PITA!

YEP! Started at only 6 weeks old and the first 6 months of his little life was a living hell. (I'm still convinced he would have slept through the night sooner if he'd never had eczema because he used to scratch himself awake at night.) Anyway...when we took him to the pedi at 2 months old about it he thought it would just go away with Aquafor. NOT. We used everything...OTC hydrocortisone, creams, you name it. Finally we took him back at 6 months old to the pedi when his elbows were basically scaly, scabbing and bloody and he Rx'ed us what I affectionately call "the ointment from heaven"...it's a steroid ointment and he also gave us a steriod mixed with Cetaphil cream which I heard was one of the best for eczema (though someone in my December DD thread said Vanicream is the best and we tried that too...I admit it was good but KJ needed something strong in addition to that.) So we use the ointment for breakouts but use the cream after every bath for maintenance. What a difference...people who saw him after we'd used it for only 3 weeks didn't know he was the same kid and wondered what had happened to him. Doesn't sound like your daughter's is nearly as bad...and I am hoping KJ outgrows it because I can remember my mom telling me I had eczema but I don't remember using cream past the age of 4.

At 24w 4d my little boy...became an angel 11/7/07 Rainbow baby arrived 12/6/09! Added a dash of PINK 4/9/11
Birthday: I have Ella's all planned as well. It's "You are My Sunshine" theme- breakfast party. I found the most adorable yellow and gray party pack on Etsy. I'm doing it more as a playdate then party (just moms and kids) to keep the guest list down and make it more low key since I have Everett's first birthday party just 2 months later, which will of course be a big one.
Poca: That sounds awful- poor little guy! The cream my derm recommended is non-steroid for more mild cases...she would do a steroid cream if it didn't work, but she said the CeraVe even works wonders on her kids, both of whom have more serious cases. She did say Ella will likely outgrow it- I hope so- I don't want her having to deal with that as an adult!
Birthday No plans here yet, but we do know what his birthday present will be -his own Leap Pad. I got one for Wyatt for his birthday and Austin totally loves it -it's the most fought over toy we have I think.
You guys are nuts. No party plans here yet. Although it's not until Dec. I guess I would do myself some favors by starting early what with the holiday madness, but I just can't. No clue on theme or type of party, but I would love to do a pajama party/breakfast thing at some point. We'll see.
I'm quickly trying to get a new thread up since we're moving on to 3's and way over board on the # of posts here. Should I leave us in toddler section or are we ready to make a leap to big kids? Also -what exactly is our range of birthdays now? Are we more like Sept to Dec birthdays?
I'll have everyone post stats again when the new thread is up to make it easier!
