I'm lucky that I can run on the university campus which is at the end of my street, although it's a little embarrassing sometimes to run by my students or colleagues at 8:20 looking like a total mess and then see them in my office 45 minutes later in a suit with my hair done.

I work out right after work before getting the kids, twice a week and then at least once on the weekend. I also try very hard to do some family activity each weekend that would be considered exercise. I can't do mornings. In addition to not being a fan of getting up earlier, I just don't move quickly and my workouts take twice as long. I also can usually get in another workout once a week in the evening by letting DH deal with the kids. Tonight for instance, we'll eat at 6:30, I'll put DD2 down at 7:30 and I'll go for a run after that.

I think my only option is getting up at 5am.

As it is now I get up between 5:45-6am, shower and get ready for work. DS wakes(normally) around 6:45-7am. I give him a bottle while DH showers and then let him play while I do little things like empty the dishwasher, fold laundry whatever. We leave the house just before 8am.

I leave work at 5pm. Get home between 5:30-6p depending on traffic. We normally don't eat dinner until 7:30 or 8p due to feeding DS dinner and his bath and then spending some time with him. By 9 I'm completely worn out and I try to be in bed by 10:30p at the latest. I'm so not a morning person but that may be my only option.

Do you take lunch at work? Why not get even a 15 minute walk in? Not's not a lot, but adding something new can help to jump start things.

Aka, I'd seriously consider looking at you schedule and see if you can't carve out time that your DH handles your son. Can you workout while he feeds him dinner twice a week or can he get up with him two mornings a week so you can run without having to get up even earlier? I think if you force yourself into a tough routine, it's much much harder to stick with it.

I work out in the mornings. I started a bootcamp last month that meets at 6 am. So I got up at 5:10, so I could pump and then I would leave the house by 5:40 to get there in time. The class was from 6-7 and I had to be at work at 7:30 so I would use dry shampoo on my hair, wash my face at school, and use lots of baby wipes and get dressed in my classroom. :P I got everything ready the night before, take a shower, put my clothes in the car, and get my lunch all ready to go. I am NOT a morning person and if I was working out on my own I would never get up to work out. But I actually like going in the morning since after work I can spend more time with my kids. Also, when I work out later (after the kids are in bed) I would have a hard time falling asleep. I have had a lot more energy during the day and it puts me in a better mood. Now that it's summer I still go to the 6am class.

I generally walk for an hour at lunch at least four days a week. I also do an hour of step aerobics every other night generally starting at 8:30. I get home around 5:15 and we eat between 6 and 6:30. DD goes up to bed at 7:30. DH and I alternate putting DD to bed so I workout on the nights DH puts her to bed.

I get up at 4:15/4:30 to workout. I usually do either 45-60 minutes on either a tmill or elliptical that I am lucky to have in my basement! I also do p90x videos or other videos.

I joined the gym near my office. Most of the time, I go right after work since I'm not a morning person. I'll have DH pick up DS up on gym days. If DH isn't home, I'll let DS play a computer game or watch TV while I do a exercise video (usually ExerciseTV On demand or P90x plyo).

What about looking on Craig's List or some other local board for a stationary bike or treadmill? Would having the equipment in your home help you? Looking at your schedule, I'd do:

    5:45 Wake
    5:50-6:15 exercise
6:15-6:45 get showered and dressed...I don't know if this leaves you enough time, but I can get showered and dressed in 20 minutes if I know what I am wearing.
Instead of having "answers" on a math test, they should just call them "impressions," and if you got a different "impression," so what, can't we all be brothers?
