Default Anyone watching Game Of Thrones?

DH and I have been watching this show and WOW, it is blowing us away! It's been a long time since I really looked forward to a new show each week and this one has me counting down the minutes until 9pm on Sundays. It is hard to describe, kind of like The Tudors meets Lord Of The Rings meets True Blood. It's refreshing to me for a show to have the courage to kill off major characters in order to move the story along (pet peeve about the last Twilight book). Anyway, anyone else found this fantastic show?

    Also blown away.
I watched the whole first season on demand over the July 4th weekend. It's the best show on TV. Can't wait until Spring 2012 for season two!

YES! Very sad that we have to wait so long for more episodes. I'm considering reading the books.

I got the books from Costco and just started the first one. At the rate I read though it will probably be season 5 before I finish the 5th book. Maybe I should have gotten the audio books instead. I really like that this guy isn't scared to off a major character, that makes it more suspenseful and makes the danger more real knowing he just might knock off someone you care about. That was a major gripe I had with the Twilight novels (and others) is that there was never any real danger because I KNEW she wasn't going to kill off anyone important. With Game Of Thrones I'm on the edge of my seat for season 2 knowing no one is safe.

I've only seen Season 2; episode 1 so far, but I am SO ready for more! I watched most of Season 1 in about 2 weeks time, right before this season started. It's really good. Between this and Downton Abbey - my life is just WAITING for episodes. Thankfully they are on different season starts, so one show will always be going or coming up.

I was at my Mom's for 2 weeks before and over Easter and took my Blu-Ray set of GOT Season 1 with me. We watched the whole thing and she actually cancelled her Starz and got HBO the day before the season 2 premier! Now she's hooked too.

I have to say I LOVE Tyrion Lanister. He is one of the most awesome characters ever and I can't wait to see how he continues to stir things up at Kings Landing.

I still plan to read the books, but I am going to donate the paper back set I bought from Costco to my library and buy a Kindle. My 40 yr old eyes just can't handle that tiny print any more.

For those thinking of reading the books, you should! I just finished the first book (hubby has read the entire series and it's one of his favs), and we're now starting the first season - only 2 episodes in and they've done an amazing job so far with keeping to the story! Probably won't pop back in here until I've read more of the 2nd book as I don't want to spoil it since the 2nd season has started, but just wanted to say that at least the first book is amazing (and hubby says they get better as they go along)!
