Boiler I have always wanted to go to Palm Springs, ever since I was a teenager and read a book that took place there. I have yet to make it there, like 25 years later. When I was an AuPair my host family and I took a trip to CA and were planning to spend a few days in Palm Springs but then that part of the trip got scrapped because the baby got sick and no one wanted to spend hours in the car with a screaming baby.
I am bumping this up because although we decided to stay close to home (Hilton Head) for our 10th, we are planning a big trip for our 11th, when baby #3 will be big enough for us to leave her for a few days. We won't go for a full week (probably 5 days) so it needs to be somewhere we can get to fairly quickly from SC (Charlotte and ATL are both convenient airports). We want to go in July, and we like tropical places. We need somewhere that won't be super rainy at that time. I would like a very nice resort but also a place with a lot of natural beauty. Ideas!? Some thoughts are Antigua, Aruba, Curaçao, Costa Rica, Belize. Anyone have thoughts on those or other places?
We went to Curacao for our honeymoon 11 years ago. It was awesome. Quiet, gorgeous beaches, relaxing, and out of the hurricane zone. It's an extremely dry island. It pretty much looks like a desert on one side when you fly in. The only down side is that the flight is a bit longer than other Caribbean destinations. It's almost a 3 hour flight from Miami.
Bumping again! We need to get down to business on planning our 11th anniversary trip, and it is looking like Antigua is our choice. Any input on Antigua? Do we go AI or not? Any thoughts ONI doing Sandals there? I like that diving is included.
