He actually said being not attracted to her was an understatement. Yikes.

I also enjoyed the book, but I too was left wondering how happy this family actually is. They wanted to do the show to show how "normal" and happy they are living this lifestyle, but it doesn't really seem all that happy. However, a) it would make for both a boring book and TV show if there were no issues causing friction or stress, and b) they HAVE gone through quite a big transition this past couple of years with Robyn joining the family, going public and filming the show, and moving to Vegas. Yet while they claim they had a happy, well-adjusted family prior to those recent changes, the book leads me to believe that there was more friction, etc. between the wives over the years than I initially thought from just watching the show.

I have to admit, what keeps me watching is that they seem to be trying to be honest about the difficulties of plural marriages. I think, in an effort to validate or justify their lifestyle, it would be easy to sway towards pretending that everything was rainbows and butterflies but they don't. I can respect that... though it is pretty brutal/hard to watch sometimes.
