I asked about the Brad Paisley fan club last year and you all really helped me. Joining his fan club was SO worth it. We go tickets right by the stage!
Anyway, Tom Petty is coming to my city. I LOVE him. I would love to join his fan club if it means I can access better tickets. Does anyone have experience with this fan club? Worth it or not? Thanks!

Sorry nerd, you're the only Tom Petty fan here! Hehehe.

Unless you have a degree in putting yourself in someone elses shoes, you have no idea what other people are experiencing in this world.
I love Tom Petty But not a member of his fan club. I saw him twice here in Dallas and his last concert was kinda a letdown. I think his opener played more than him. He even came out and played about 3 of Tom's songs with him. I can't remember who it was, he was good...but not why we went to the concert at all. The previous concert I saw in like 2001 and it was awesome. I had a friend who had a friend who worked security at the venue and let us in the front row. Amazing.

Crazy! We saw him here last year or the year before and it was the best concert ever. I am so jealous of you sitting in the front row.
I'm thinking maybe I should just take my chances with the fan club, but it's 45 bucks and I'm cheap right now. I just remember from the other thread that some people joined fan clubs and it was a total waste.

You're not the only Petty fan here. I've seen him in concert well over a dozen times. During one of his shows at the Fillmore in the late 90's I was standing in the front leaning on the stage during American Girl. Definitely a highlight for me.
I wonder if we could get better seats by joining the fan club?
Now you've got me wondering about getting better seats by joining the fan club! Tickets go on sale for my city on Wed., so I need to act fast! Decisions decisions....
ETA: Oops, I guess fan club tickets go on sale Wed, and regular tickets go on sale Monday, right? Hmmm, might be worth joining to get tickets early.
Yeah, I think that's the deal here - Wednesday versus Monday. So yeah, early tickets could be better.
I just worry because when Taylor Swift came to town her fan club members didn't get any better seats than anyone else. They just opened up seats sooner, but they weren't on the floor. Sort of lame. Decisions decisions!
Then again, he's probably been around long enough that he makes joining his fan club worthwhile...

You're definitely not the only fan! I think that the fan club will allow you to get tickets earlier but I don't think they're better seats, you'll just have a better selection. I'm the kind of girl that sits on the lawn though, so I try not to mess with seats!
Where are you going to see him? I'll go to Charlotte, NC. I've seen him there before and it was a great show. I'm really not sure he can match it; TP + the Black Crowes was almost too much for me.
He'll be coming to an arena in the Midwest, so no lawn here. Last time we saw him (in the same place) our seats were by the stage but way up high. I want to sit in the front row soooooo bad. Maybe I should pass on Ticketmaster tickets and just go for a scalper site.
