If there is already a thread for this, please redirect me - I looked. I haven't bought a lot on iTunes - probably about 25 songs total - to download onto my ipod. I used an iTunes card I purchased at Wal-Mart for those songs. Now that it is out of $, I tried to buy a song and it asked my for credit card information so I entered it, clicked "done", and when it went back to the song and I clicked "buy", it asked for the same info...over and over again...and wouldn't let me buy the song. Is there another mp3 site that I can buy songs and sync them onto my ipod along with the itunes songs without having the original ones erased. In other words, can I add mp3s to my itunes songs on my ipod? I know that sounds like a stupid question, but seriously, I don't fool with my ipod an awful lot.
I put my CC info into ITunes when I set up my account and that has been forever ago! I think it doesn't matter where you get your songs, just import them into ITunes and then sync up. It will keep everything on there. For the Shuffle, it is as simple as dragging the songs over to the listing that says IPOD or if you have named it, that name. For Nano, Classic and the other more techy IPods, you will need a folder (I named mine IPod) under the playlist section, then you can drag to there and sync up. Hope this helps!
IIRC, iPod/iTunes songs are in a different format than mp3 so you may have to convert them, you may not - it depends on what the original format is. Although that info might be outdated, this is my husbands area in our house. That said, to purchase things on iTunes I would try going to your account information in iTunes and inputting your CC info and saving it and then try to purchase a song. The only time I have to repeatedly enter info is if I put in the wrong password.
I've bought mp3s from Amazon before. They're downloaded into an amazon mp3 folder on my computer. When I open the mp3 to play it, it opens into iTunes and is automatically added to the iTunes library.

This. In fact, I only buy from Amazon now. It's cheaper and is straight MP3 format, none of this Apple proprietary garbage.
