I am thinking about signing up to decorate my car for a Trunk or Treat party. It isn't religious or anything (i think most our run through churches, but ours isn't). Does anyone have any good ideas?
Last year at ours there was a guy dressed as Batman and he decorated his car like the Batmobile. It was really cool. I think any famous car would be a cute theme- Lightning McQueen, Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine, a police car- depends on what kind of car you drive.
Other ideas- Hawaiian luau, spaceship, hmmm- there were so many good ones I saw last year but I'm drawinga blank now.
shopaholic- instead of having kids go door-to-door you get a bunch of people to meet in a parking lot (often at churches) and decorate their cars and hand out candy from their trunks.
oh, the batmobile is a good idea! I was going to get a Batman outfit for one son. I just can't find a Robin outfit for the other. And my car is white Maybe I "borrow" someone's black car!
If you want to stick with the batman theme and use the white car, you could make it into the bat cave instead. Have it look "rock like" with grey paper and other rocks around, have some high tech looking graphics and include a red bat phone.
Otherwise, I'd come up with a costume theme and base the car off of that.
Submarine paired with fish style costumes
Flame car paired with devil costumes
Bowling alley car paired with bowling pin and ball costumes
60's diner style car paired with 60's style costumes

That is interesting. I might be the only one but I find the idea to be quite odd. I understand the parents will be with the kids but aren't we always teaching them to never take candy from strangers in cars?
I'm so glad you posted this. One of our playdate groups is doing this and I'm looking for ideals. I also got to figure out costumes this year, I'm really slacking.
ETA: Sounds stupid, but do you just decorate the inside of your trunk or the whole car? I've got a hatchback wagon, and was just thinking of doing the trunk part.

It is usually a group that you already hang out with (so not strangers) and you get together at a park, etc.
