    Default Best Movies for Blu-Ray

So we finally took the plunge and got a BluRay DVD player. DH and I are very excited to see how movies look in this new format. So I was hoping to get some recommendations on movies that make the most of the Blu Ray capabilites. What have your experiences been?

    My hubby recommends:

-Dark Knight (I agree! It was the first one I saw on our blu-ray and I couldn't get over it! It was a good thing I'd seen the movie before because I was so distracted by how REAL it looked!)
    -Remastered Godfather Collection
    -300
    -Bourne Trilogy

I guess it really depends on what kind of movies you like! But these are a few of our suggestions.

Lost! 1st episode of season 3 looks terrific!
I agree with The Dark Knight. Honestly though, everything looks better. Even kids' movies look awesome (Cars is probably the most worth it of those.)

Thanks for the tips! We got our player hooked up last night and my "tester" that I bought was The Mummy and it really did look amazing. We already have Dark Knight and 300 on DVD so I'm not sure if I'd want to respend $$ on the BluRay discs but I'm sure they both look fantastic. Supposedly the player I have upconverts and we're connecting via HDMI so maybe just the regular DVDs will look good.

I'm definitely getting the new Star Trek movie in Nov on Blu Ray and am thinking about Wall-E too.

Wall-E will rock your world on Blu-Ray. It already has sort of a 3D quality to it, and when you watch it on a really good TV with Blu-Ray... wow.

I hadn't seen it before and caught a bit at a display at the Sony store and wasn't into the story so much as I just couldn't quit looking at it! We decided to rent it for the kids, and it was just as great at home!

^ I'm putting Wall-E on BluRay on my X-mas wish list! I love that movie and bet it would look great in high-def!

Planet Earth series on blu-ray is pretty amazing. I have another suggestion but I'm blanking on the title at the moment for some reason. Will post back when I think of it.

Do you think it is worth getting a Blu-ray player if your HDTV is only 720p?
