Default Any tips switching from bottle to sippy cup?

My DS is starting to really lose interest in formula and drinking from a bottle so I thought it would be a good time to try to get him to use a sippy cup. Only thing is he also has no interest in drinking from a sippy cup. He will drink from a straw and regular cup but it's messy! Thanks

You can buy toddler straw cups, I used those instead of sippys. The 'Take and Toss' cups are great, and you can reuse them for quite awhile. They can also handle a regular bendy straw if that's better.

I would try a straw cup first - it seemed my 2 had an easier time with them then the regular sippy cups. Thats awesome he is ready for a sippy cup already! It took my DS FOREVER to get transitioned to one (18+ months).

Thanks! I'll try the sippy cup with the straws and see how that goes. We got him mini apple juice boxes with straws he likes which helps because it's easily portable.

I started both of my kids out with the take n toss straw sippies. If you just squeeze the bottom it will shoot liquid into their mouth. That helped my kids figure out that they could suck on the straw to get their milk. After that I switched to the toddler straw sippy cups.

Drinking from a straw is better for their speech development so that's a big plus to using the straw cups. It helps with muscle development of the mouth (vs a regular sippy cup which is sucked from the same way a bottle is)
