Can anyone with a Hale's book tell me whether Fluocinolone is OK for breastfeeding? It is a corticosteroid, if that helps. I was prescribed this med despite telling the intake nurse AND doctor that I am still nursing. Of course, I see on the pharmacy flyer that it's excreted in breastmilk. I didn't like the doctor so I just want to be sure... lol.

Tonight might be my last session. I am sad about it... Does that mean I am not ready to wean? My body is ready but emotionally its sad to think we will not have the bf bond again...
No, it's not unusual to be sad, but I don't think it means you aren't ready to wean. DD hasn't nursed in over a week and while I think I'm glad to be done, I do miss it. To me it means she's not a baby anymore!
I haven't pumped in 4 or 5 days. DD quit nursing a long time ago and I have been EPing. I was down to just one pump a day for about the last month, so my supply was pretty low. I think I pumped 4 or 5 ounces the last time I pumped and that was after not pumping for two days. Over the last day or two I've started to get uncomfortable. I wouldn't say that I'm engorged but my breasts are sore and slightly lumpy. I'm afraid of getting plugged ducts or mastitis (and I think I'm starting to get DD's cold which is getting my defenses down). At what point do I need to think about pumping again? I would rather not and I'm not that uncomfortable but I really, really don't want to get plugged ducts.
What about cabbage leaves? I don't know if it actually works, but I've heard you can put cabbage leaves in your bra to help reduce milk supply when weaning.
littlemia, I had soreness for about 5-6 days that felt like plugged duct type soreness after cutting out that last feed. For the most part, I just suffered through it. Though I did do a few very small hand expresses in the shower when it was bad. But I mean like 2-3 shots. Less than an ounce. Just to relieve that pressure that was building up right behind the nipple area.
But if you are nervous about getting a plugged duct or mastitis, you could pump and just reduce the amount. Take it down to 2 oz for a few days, then down to 1 oz for a few days, then just a tiny bit to take off the pressure. But you will likely have some pressure and discomfort for a few days regardless.

I was going to suggest this. I didn't use it to wean, but I used cabbage to help me with my engorgement with both of my babies. It was such a lifesaver.
Here are some more suggestions to help ease discomfort:
I ended up pumping because it seems I do have a plugged duct in one breast. I'm not sure if I got it out- hopefully I did- sometimes it takes a few days to figure it out. I'm okay with pumping a few more times if I need to.
Wrighty and Pine Tree- Thanks. I have some cabbage in the fridge so if things don't get better, I'll try it out.
Boilermaker- Thanks. Having never done this before, it's nice to have a first-hand account of what's normal when weaning.
