I'm pulling for Kevin to win it all, but last night's episode was so weird. It basically seemed like he won b/c he did the least amount of things wrong and I hate it when that happens. No one really seemed to 'wow' the judges. I know the criteria was stricter and the judging harsher, but ouch. I do think Eli was the least technical person there but I'm not convinced he actually did the worst last night.
Mike V is a d-bag. We get it, no one is as good as you. Get over it. He might be good at what he does, but he ruins it every time he opens his mouth.
I want Bryan to win, but I've felt for some time now that the editing was favoring Kevin. I like him, too, I just prefer Bryan's technique and the complexity of his dishes.
It was definitely Eli's time to go. They probably factored in last weeks' disgusting parfait when they made the decision. On a side note, I had no idea that Richard Blais was Eli's BFF/mentor. Interesting.
DH and I were so excited to see Thomas Keller on the show! We always thought it would be awesome to have him on and it was a pleasant surprise. His food is the best!
I loved seeing Kevin's reaction when he won. His eyes were welling up and he seemed so humble. I can't imagine anyone else winning.
AT this point I'd be happy if either Kevin or Bryan won. I think they are both consistently good and just have different styles. I think Michael is an amazing chef, but a douche. Jennifer does nothing for me.
As a side, my friend in Atlanta went to Kevin's woodfire grille last week and said not only was it amazing but when a friend told the waiter that she was a fan of Kevins he came out from the kitchen and talked with them for a long lon time and took pictures and was really humble.
Agreed on many of the PP points--I just watched it tonight on DVR (we're a little backlogged!). I do think it was Eli's time to go but I also think they factored other dishes in to the decision and not just the one from that night. If that were the case, i would think Michael would have been gone for the fish bone. But, I also think they were setting up for the final four that they really wanted there. Eli just didn't fit and I actually liked his comment that while he was disappointed to leave he was ok with it because of who he was leaving behind for the finals.
Still a big fan of Bryan's but also wouldn't mind a Kevin win. Even with his different style than the others' he seems to pull out these great dishes sort of quietly and almost under the radar. I think it's humbleness that leads to that. I was glad to see Jennifer back last night but she's still not as good as she was in the beginning. And Michael is just a huge douche. Saying things like there's nothing left for Jennifer to do here and that had he cooked the right thing in the quickfire that his would have won and been better than the judge's dish that he won the competition with. Whatever, his personality sucks. Makes Bryan and Kevin look that much better. I can't wait to see the finale!

I was up and out very early at the Farmer's Market today and who do I run into over lemons? Eli. Just for sh$ts and giggles, I said "good job on Top Chef". He said thanks for the compliment and invited me to come to his restaurant.

I think they made the right decisions tonight. Even though Jen was blah, I liked her, but she just wasn't as good as the final three (especially towards the end). I want to try Bryan's goat cheese ravioli with butternut squash...two of my favorite things, goat cheese and butternut squash...YUM!!!!
Does anyone know why Padma is on the show? I've never liked her, and I'm just curious what her credentials are because I thought that I heard she was a model? How does that qualify her to be a judge? I know she has a cookbook or something, but is she a chef? Even though I don't care for her, I don't mind her on the show, I just always wondered why they chose her.

I'm very excited about tonight's season finale. I'm not making any predictions becaue the last 2 years the most talented chef has not won (Richard Blaise in season 4 and Stefan last year). If I were betting, I would say it's going to be Kevin because he seems the most consistent, but it could really be any of them.
