Alright, I'm back ... again ... I never grew to *like* the belly bandit, but I did keep making myself put it on and dare I say I think it's worked. As I got smaller it got more comfortable and I was able to wear it more often, although I certainly did not wear it 24 hours a day (more like 8-10). I'm 5 weeks post partum after a c-section right now, and while the small size started out so tight I could barely fasten the velcro, now I only have about an inch left before I would need an xs. Now the flab, that is a separate question and something that I need to work on, but I was able to comfortably button one pair of pre-pregnancy jeans last weekend and got the rest on. I feel like another week or two I will fit into my old clothes, and as though it's given me some motivation to work on toning and losing more weight. All I've been doing on top of wearing the bandit is walking (long walks, but slow, barely enough to break a sweat unless it is hot outside) and eating well (6 small meals instead of three large ones, but usually some treats mixed in and a glass or two of wine frequently). I've lost all but 7 lbs of what I gained, but at 7 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight I don't think the pants would fit so well, and attribute that part to the belly binder. So, bottom line - do I think anyone needs a belly bandit? NO. But is it awful, like I said in my earlier post? Not awful either.
How long is everyone wearing their binder? I started at 3 days post-partum in a medium (couldn't get the small around me at all). By 2 weeks PP, I have no room left on the medium and definitely could wear a small, but don't want to pay for another one. Plus, mine is creasing and not really holding it's shape now. I haven't worn it in a few days and I'm wondering if I should suck it up and keep at it or if it's not really worth it now. I'm about 10lbs over my pre-pg weight still...
I've posted a few times in here. I wore mine religiously with DD1 as it was needed for complications I had with delivery. I think it helped get me back in my pre-pg clothes and reduce my pooch right off the bat.
However, I had good intentions to wear it this time around and just couldn't get into doing so. I'm now 12 weeks pp and while I still have 3 pounds to lose, I am back in all my clothes and have no stomach pooch at all. If I didn't have stretch marks, I'd be perfectly fine wearing a bikini in public.
So that being said, I think it might have helped speed things up the first time around but overall, I bounced back quickly enough without it this time.
I'm using the Bellefit. http://www.bellefit.com. I'm having really great results so far. I'm 9 days pp and I'm noticing a huge difference in my belly. It's actually not that uncomfortable and the crotch fasteners aren't nearly as scary as they look. I'm able to wear underwear and a pad underneath to take care of pp bleeding. I bought the one with the zipper up the side. With my last pregnancy I had a medical grade binder that I ordered through work. It was terribly uncomfortable, itchy and was constantly rolling down or shifting. The Bellefit seems to stay in place unless I find myself sitting with bad posture. I'm hoping to manage wearing it 24/7 (except to take it off for washing) for another week then I'll probably wear it during the day for another couple of weeks. I might need to order a smaller size soon.

I really wish I would've done this with DD2. I'm 11 months PP and have a huge stomach despite being practically underweight. Has anyone worn a splint or a binder this far PP? I'm wondering if it will at least help me with my posture. I work out every day but I think I've lost all muscle tone in that region and I'm afraid of doing too much ab work because I heard it can exacerbate a diastasis recti (which I'm pretty sure I have but I don't think it's really wide).

From the BelleFit website:
It’s been months since I gave birth. Is it too late to begin wearing my Bellefit Girdle?
It's optimal to begin wearing Bellefit right after birth, however, it is not too late. Here's why: Still present after childbirth for up to 6 months are hormones secreted during pregnancy. These hormones, estrogen, progesterone and relaxin loosen the abdominal muscles, the pelvic structure and supporting ligaments and joints. Bellefit works together with your natural process of recovery.
The Girdle/Corset acts to retract the body by drawing in stretched muscles and provides medical-grade compression to your abdominal area. We have heard great testimonies from Moms that began using Bellefit up to 8-10 months postpartum and were able to benefit greatly from its use.

Glad to hear this as I was considering them! They said to measure what size past 36w, what do you think of their sizing? I don't want to have to get a new one too soon if the first one I get gets too big soon after birth (I'm 36w as of today...)

I was a little beyond the XL size but I still ordered it and it's been fine. I think I measured T 37w
I just emailed them today. Mine has a 1" rip on the seam after less than 2 weeks of use. I sent pics and asked for a replacement. I'll update then I hear back. Otherwise, I'm really happy with the fit and comfort.

I just heard back. The company will be sending a replacement, free of charge, and I don't have to send the damaged one back. I did send pics of the rip for credibility.
