jaja - lovely. I feel like I'm postpartum again & losing a ton of hair. ick!! Do please tell me that this is just temporary, until my thyroid levels out w/the med. & all.

Yes, it is temporary. I had to wear a hat/scarf in Mexico this January because I lost so much hair I had tiny bald spots. The hair loss has since stopped and now I'm hair-ier than ever. If you look on the information packet given to you with the prescription, you'll see hair loss listed as a side effect.

    thanks, fuzz.

not sure if it's me being lazy, staying up to late & feeling less motivated, but I have been So tired & feeling low lately. I'm sure it's just me feeling a bit stressed about general life/stuff & from having an underactive thyroid. I must say though, it was nice taking a 2+hr. nap today.

It's been about 8wks. now since I started taking synthroid. I've noticed that the dryness/soreness in my throat has gone away. However, I'm not enjoying the brittleness in my hair or hair loss. On another note, it seems like my memory has gone by the wayside!...don't know if I can blame the med. Or if it's just me.-got a lot on my mind as of late...

I had labs drawn yesterday & got the results back today! My REs office said that everything needed to be where they want & that it looked good.

    Here are my current numbers-
    TSH - 1.6
    Free T3 - 2.5
    T4 - 1.17

Interesting - is that a common Hypo complaint?

I feel like I am showing lots of signs. I have always complained of being tired (and now I have a 14 month old and a 4.5 year old)... however in the last 3 months I have gained 10 pounds (no change in diet or exercise...though I did stop nursing about 2 months ago - actually I may be watching what I eat MORE then before). I feel sluggish and foggy, can't concentrate on much, my period since it came back after DD has been really heavy and knocks me out. Ovulation has also become really painful (bloated and hurts to even sit for a good week). I am CRANKY and down. Pretty much feel like massive PMS ALL.THE.TIME

I have a dr's appointment on Monday and know she will give me a basic round of bloodtests. Wondering what the 'optimal' level is for TSH so I can ask what it was 3 years ago when she tested?
