Create a play area on the floor or some other distraction zones in your house so he's not tempted to go on the couch.

LVP - why do you care if she posted what appears to be a 'commonsense' question? Why do you feel the need to come into this thread and be nasty? Geez...
In fact I dont even recall posting a ton of questions regarding my son at all.
Go look at your post history.

I read New Posts in my Google Reader every morning and I swear there seems to be a new post every day this month from this OP asking some question that can be answered with some common sense. She is more than entitled to ask her questions here in this community and a lot of people have advice for her. But most mornings when I am reading new posts in Google Reader, I can tell who the poster is without seeing the poster name. And I am right every time.

Again I ask -- Why do you care if she asks questions that to you seem to be commonsense? What is the point of coming in and being nasty? To me it seems so immature and petty.

ITA with lawphil. People don't post here to get flamed...they post because they have legitimate questions or concerns. If you don't want to answer a PP's question or concern, don't reply to her post. Now THAT is common sense.

So it is "immature and petty" to tell someone their question is common sense, but it is not immature and petty to come in here and call other people immature and petty? Why do YOU care so much?

Regarding the OP's question- I agree with some of the other posters and think you should come up with some type of system to keep him from falling off the couch. I know it's difficult at his age just to make him stay off the couch, but I would try to teach him he can only sit on the couch, or give him an area to play that will keep him from wanting to climb on the couch.

She did, it was nothing more than blip on the radar to her.

Why are you coming into the thread? Are you actually contributing at all, or just finger-wagging other posters?

Personally, I'd ask a DOCTOR these kinds of questions, but I guess one already weighed in here.

Maybe you can create a distraction by placing something more interesting by the couch when he is on the floor- so that he doesn't get up on the couch and harm himself by falling?

This thread is causing me to beat my head against my desk and I am worried about damaging myself. Fortuantely, I googled for a solution and found this.

In my head I am hearing that fight we used to have as kids..."I'm not stupid...your stupid..."

If you don't get it, you don't get it.
