CC Book Club?

Are there any already in existence? And if so, are they open to new members?

If not, would anyone be interested in joining one? I think it would be fun to have a group of people to discuss a book with - without having to clean the house and be a hostess!

This way, you can check in and discuss whenever you have the time. We can figure out details as we go along.

There was one, but it sort of petered out back in 2006. Maybe some of those ladies would be interested in getting it started again? You could send PMs. I might join in this time, too.

Is that okay to do? I would feel a little weird PMing people I don't know that haven't been interested in book club since that one looks like it petered out fairly quickly? Maybe I'll post the same question in the what are you reading thread?

I initiated the first cc book club and would be happy to join yours and try again. I think the main issue with the first book club was that our first book was a difficult read. Seems we lost a lot of members from that. I felt bad, since it was my book choice.

Hmmm, I'll have to go back and re-read through that thread.

should we throw in some book suggestions? i need to borrow from the lib so will need to reserve ahead of time

maybe we could do a diff category each month (eg oct = sci fi, nov = chick lit, dec = memoir etc) so we're forced to read something out of our interest, like dizzy said? i know i tend to stick with what i generally read...
